Turbo Blue seems too heavy for me. Have you (or anyone else in this thread) ever tried 8701? This one https://www.tabletennis11.com/other_eng/nittaku-hurricane-neo-3-8701
I think it has a Japanese Nittaku sponge and apparently it's between 38 and 39 degrees(conflicting info from different sources); apparently comparable to 39 deg PROV OS? Curious to know how it plays without booster and if it's even worth it over the DHS 39deg PROV OS(unboosted)
I tried the Orange turbo. I did boost. It was faster than the DHS version but unfortunately it was too heavy for me. If it was lighter I would definitely use it.

Cheers

NR-8701 is a H3Neo OS with I would say at least DHS provincial quality. Mine felt a bit harder than 39°. Nittaku claims 42.5° Japanese scale. They usually add 10 to get ESN hardness which in turn would be around 39.5/40 Shore A. Never tried it unboosted.
Definitely worth its price when bought from e.g. TT-Japan. Currently $25.58 vs $44.75 at TT11 or ridiculous $61.58 for the provincial H3NOS from TT11 https://tt-japan.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_2&products_id=1152
H3N BS for $39.97 https://tt-japan.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_2&products_id=4398

I just bought H8-80 and found that it has reverse dome. Can anyone confirm whether it's normal or not?

I bought 37 degree but when I tried to measure with shore O durometer it showed 50-51 degree 😵

37 is Shore A (around 47 Shore O). Combine that with DHS' QC for commercial versions than 50 to 51 Shore O are not very surprising. Commercial #20 sponges were (for me at least) more consistent than commercial #80 sponges like on the H8-80. Slight reverse dome, heavy (over 50g cut) or very light (44g cut iirc) but too soft (felt more like 43 Shore O/ESN)

I'm doing a little experiment. Since I have a Q968 national and I quite like it on BH side and of FH side I really couldn't find a rubber that I fancied to much on it (that doesn't need boosting, I tried Pinyi Cuifeng and Sanwei Target National purple sponge and something else I can't remember) so I was like this blade feels fast and bouncy.
Anyway both the Cuifeng and the STN purple felt not really in good harmony on the blade, like too short contact time or I don't even know but I didn't have much good feeling about either. So I glued on a blue sponge STN since the blue STN is really transparent, it hits down on the blade almost immediately. On my Mizutani ZLC it makes a quite disgusting contact sound but the performance is undeniably good regardless.

So now I glued it on the Q968 and it sounds just fine, it feels like it has the ball contact time I expect and since STN is very transparent I can feel the blade more, and with W968 Q968 I think that is very important. If one is not using the blade all the time I think this kind of blade will suck.
Since blue sponge STN is super transparent I had the idea what if instead of my standard 4 layers of glue I try 6. So now I am testing that and my initial feel is that maybe blue STN is cured from it's too transparent property and also maybe it's a bit faster and I think the release angle is quite good.
Now is this because of the glue or the blade or which contributes how much, I don't know.

At the same time I glued my favorite sheet of Cuifeng on my W968 prov and that rubber is not slow. But the Q968 with blue STN feels so much more lively... It's like a dead ESN rubber vs a new Tenergy. Also the bounce of the Q968+STN is much higher than W968+Cuifeng and STN makes a nice clicking sound too.

The bounce from the Q968+STN is really impressively more compared to Ice Cream AZX Pro + Battle 3 Tiger and maybe the STN is a bit faster than the B3 but the Ice Cream should be much faster than Q968.
But Q968+STN is so much more lively and bouncy, really like dead ESN vs new Tenergy.

Quite exciting what will come out of this 😏 It sure would be nice to just fix STNs issues with extra 2 layers of glue and an innerforce style blade.

On BH I have Yinhe Apollo 3 on the Q968 which I also like since it feels like a sticky Fastarc G-1. Very lovely rubber and also hits down on the blade nicely, and very good for punching and chiquita. All of these features in a Chinese rubber are not that common.

On the W968 I have a black hard Yasaka Hovering Dragon so this blade has 2 black rubbers but I sure as hell don't care.

I actually like the Q968 handle a little bit better, the shape is more suitable for me, but I think W968 colors and Ma Long on the end of the handle are more appealing than Wang Chuqin even tho I am a lefty like him.

Oh ok so it really is just a normal H3 Neo OS, but with good QC? Harder than 39 deg I would probably need to boost 😔 Thanks for the info!
TT-japan has great prices, but idk how much in tariffs it would be if I ordered from there.

My Battle 3 purple 40deg red is 66.4g uncut 164x164mm. 54-55 deg shore o before break in. The quality of the sponge and top surface is superior to 729 Battle Taichi 2. Almost not sticky but a very grippy surface, it has the vibe of a well-boosted H3N OS. The reverse dome and nasty smell are the only negatives.

Yes, the reverse dome sucks a lot. The smell goes away in a day or two so that's not too bad.

How does it play compared to single hardness rubber?

How is rebound and throw angle?

I only had the Taichi 37/39 not the 39/37 because I thought that it would be a better fit for BH.
It is a bit slow below a certain say threshold (its not an abrupt change). Above that one can feel that the rubber has more power than a normal 37 rubber. Easy to play with a medium/medium low (not too low) throw/trajectory.
39/37 or 40/37 seems to be better for a more aggressive playing style according to
(Russian but the subtitles can be auto-translated quite well).

Two rubbers not mentioned yet:
729 Battle 2 Soft 37: Currently on a spare blade and playable without boosting although I would prefer a bit higher trajectory. Can't say anything about the black version that has a different sponge or at least sponge color (violet instead of orange).

Loki RXTON 7:
(seems to be somewhat similar to the Dynaryz ZGX according to this review). My red RXTON 7 Nationals are still either in their package or on a different blade ;) What I can say is that the topsheet has not this bite on the ball that e.g. the B3 has but they grip the ball very well due to the softer topsheet (needs thicker contact) and that it is quite non-linear/catapulty.

any update on this?
Thank you for reminding me as I’m very forgetful. I forgot to weigh it, but it definitely felt quite hefty, though I appreciate that as a long pips player since you lose a lot of overall mass which has led me to swinging faster and messing with my timing. Definitely tackier than the last provincial hurricane I bought. Absolutely doesn’t need boosting (the smell out of the package is insane) and I actually overshot the table a number of times, especially on opening against pushes which I wasn’t expecting. I only got to play with it once and then got sick this week, but I’ll be playing with it again a lot tomorrow. Very promising rubber, it’s unfortunate that literally no one sells this except the Ghenghaida store on taobao.

More impressions from B3 purple 40 degree (measured 54 shore o) on Dr. N Matador Titan. Very close to 2 layer boosted H3N orange sponge 38 degree (measured 50). B3 purple have a bit softer topsheet. I really like the speed range of that rubber. A weak hit is slow, a hard hit is fast. Same as H3N OS, but faster. I don't find it more bouncy, not like G09C. Probably needs more play time to break in. Also, my blade is killing some of the energy, but I will not complain.

I am doing some experiments to fix the negative dome, using the leftover pieces. First try was with 1 layer falco platinum. The effect was small and the topsheet glue was not holding as strong as before, but better than non boosted LAC. The second try was with two layers sea moon II - the sponge become flat and topseet glue was holding as new. Now will wait a month for the booster to evaporate. Also, I will try air boost only before the glue job.

That sounds very strange with the hardness, would you care to provide some more details?

I use 38 deg H3N 2 layers on my BH and very happy with it, and been looking for a FH rubber that makes me feel as comfortable as this.

The 39 deg H3N BS is too hard for me, so i was thinking about trying this new battle 3 in 39deg, but you say the 40 deg version would the the same as my BH rubber?

Red B3 purple has slightly softer topsheet than red H3N orange sponge. The difference is not big, but it is there. I am using weak booster with forever like duration - falco platinum. Also, my H3N OS is 2.1mm vs 2.2mm for B3 purple. Probably because all of that, I find the both rubber so similar. Even with a 4 degree difference in measured hardness.

Keep in mind that OS is easier to engage than BS. With the same measured hardness, H3N BS feels harder than OS. One of my setups has H3 BS 39 on FH, and it is easy as OS - solution was blade with soft top ply veneer and some flex (980XX).

From my level the main advantage of B3 purple is the spin level and supposed resistance to oxidation. I like to rotate rubbers and this dome can be an issue if increases with time. In any case, I ordered one regular B3 for backup.

Promo video clip by ITTF working group, how the safety label works. Great innovation by ITTF, indeed.

Is any of these rubber available in aliexpress? I could only find the Hurricanes, Loki and STN.

Btw the 8-80 is so less sticky than my 4 years old Hurricane 8 😓
Yes, B3 purple is there for around 40€, B3 is just 15€.

Btw, this beauty is catching my eyes:

Unfortunately, I have not found any reviews. What are the chances of having Jupiter 3 topsheet and some light elastic sponge? Without a negative dome, please 😃

Eddit: it is sueke phantom 2...

If this is the regular B3 you talk about , I tried it out to see if it could replace my H3 BH rubber AND """it could". It is however bouncier and took quite a while to adjust. Still i think it is a good BH rubber.

I noticed the same with my H8, an old sheet I had lying around for about 5–6 years is stil much stickier than the one I bought a couple of months ago.

Very interesting Thread , I'm still trying to find the perfect Chinese tacky topsheet (as fast as possible) that doesn't require boost, I'll try the LAC and the Loki Rxton 9 National 39 BS very soon to see if it's playable without Boost, what Hardness would you recommand to try like a Battle 2 / Battle 3 without boost for the Forehand ? Should it Be like 38 or 39 ? 40 and 41 seems too hard for me to play without booster
