Many pros have hidden serves, Ly is not unique. I am surprised Allegro struggled so much. Usually a serve has to be jigh quality and not just hidden to bother a professional. That said, I am for the serve rules being followed so the assistant umpire needed to do better. But many pros battle against hidden serves all the time and so Ly must have had really good serves beyond just hiding them.

TTR is fairly expensive to implement in its current form and unlikely to be used for a tournament this size especially in the group stages held on multiple tables.

Yeah, both served illegally.

Still, ITTF should change the rule of serving. No more pendulum serve and serve should be like that of Samsonov.

Illegal in two respects, over 30° and hidden. One is the result of the other. It’s hard to believe this is allowed at a WTT event.
And the referees just stood by and watched without doing anything. When will they finally receive professional training so that they can make consistent decisions?

I can see the ball? His opponent can see the ball... This may not be the best example I guess.

Please tell that to the KTTA officials and coaches that told reporters that SYB was overrated. Odo isn't even qualified. Winter is lucky AF. Matsushima is finally doing everyone's expectation justice after years of JTTA's favoritism/nepotism and one of a few players doing the right thing - not wasting time on the T.League or TTBL except for CTTSL which is actually far more beneficial to his growth as he said.

If it were not for Diaz draining CXT (the latter pointed out she was going to give up that game where she was trailing), SYB would likely have met the same fate instead.
