I don't think Sidorenko is responsible for the actions of his mad president. If he speaks out against the war, he or his family will end up in jail and achieve nothing.
I believe the country must be banned from international sports until the war is over, period. Russia actively uses its sports achievements for soft power, as it's heavily tied to the athletes' upbringing (tons of youth/adult clubs are directly tied to military/police/national guard/customs). I think such a platform is a privilege that no active-genocidal-war country should access.

That is a more nuanced argument and it is one I can agree with. My main counterpoint is that sports are not always about the organization, they are also about the individual. If Sidorenko is not playing in a Russian league etc., he has done the best he can. If he is going back and forth and playing in Russian champs, we can revisit. He is making sacrifices already. IT isn't a free lunch for him.
