Suggestions on rubbers for a man leaving h3 neo

This user has no status.
Hello guys, I have been using h3 neo / h3 boosted on both FH and BH for like 10 years, but now that Im getting older I see that I cant get the same hours of games on my club due to me getting tired faster with both h3 neo actively acting against me due to requiring a great physical and technical effort

I was thinking In going full european style on new rubbers to dont strain myself anymore and get more of less the same quality of ball but without the same effort, and maybe a good durability too

I use a hugo calderano HAL mainly, and I was thinking on trying the andro nuzn 55 (saw great reviews on durability and performance) on FH or the gewo nexxus EL Pro 53 Super Select (big aruna fan and the rubber is kind of new and cheap) and maybe the stiga helix platinum H on BH, or a harder helix for FH too?

Would like to get some nice suggestions or insights on this, thanks.

I think Dignics 09c would be preferable. It still has some tackiness and is probably the closest you'd get for spin.
If you just want a rubber that's easy to use, any of the Tenergies would work.
But try the turbo version of the hurricane before you do that.

OP is asking for rubbers that are easier to use than a boosted Hurricane. Turbo Hurricanes are very hard and very heavy, I can't say I found them easier to use than boosted H3

By going hybrid you have to accept the tradeoffs. Hybrids cannot fully replicate the spin quality and grip behavior of boosted H3, they yield spin and grip/arc safety through investment of effort for ease of accessing speed. In terms of proximity to boosted H3, D09C and J1 come closer, N55 is a bit more Euro, Helix and Nexxus are nontacky and have great spin but do not act like a Chinese rubber- Nexxus SS53 is more a substitute for T05H and Helix M is more akin to something like T19. For my personal tastes I would try Nuzn55 fh and Helix M or H bh. I am also testing a sheet of Helix Hybrid XH and it behaves closer to Hurricane than normal Helix XH, but that also means it takes more effort to get the ball going.

A lot of it is really about trying and seeing what works. As long as you are willing to adapt, and by adapt ultimately I mean go through the pains of playing with the rubber and adapting your technique, the switch is not as ceazy as it seems. You also have a reasonable blade. All that said, most of thr challenges will be in the short game and close to the table counters. And unless cost is a huge factor, a lot of the Butterfly tubbers act like Hybrids in one way or another, especially the Dignics and Zyre series and to a lesser degree T05H and T19.

for me the answer was fastarc g1. unexciting rubber that does everything well, isnt bouncy and lasts a very long time.

the sponge is much softer than h3 but the topsheet of g1 is quite hard, so you get a very solid hitting feeling. spin is overall good, speed is much more accessible than h3.

when I had less time to practise or didnt play at all for a few weeks / months, going back to a dead h3 was not a fun experience. g1 was great in those situations. main difference is that you can no longer rely on the h3 topsheet to save you, g1 needs constant sponge activation to make stable shots

if g1 is too soft, take d05 or d09c. d05 more like g1 just harder and faster. d09c more similar to h3 but you will have to work more physically also

last option is xiom vega china, esn rubber that feels very close to h3, but is overall easier to play (more free speed, feels like boosted h3 out of the box)

if you are struggling to keep up physically, I say give g1 or d05 a chance. hybrid rubbers in a way try to emulate h3, and that can just make you feel like you want to have your hurricane back

I fully agree with @doppelmoral since the question is an easier rubber.
Fastarc G1 is very slightly resemblant of Hurricane in the sense of having a (relatively) firm topsheet, being quite hard wearing, and not all too bouncy or spin sensitive.
I literally found training with H3 to make playing with Fastarc G1 much easier, without requiring huge adjustments.

As for Dignics or Glayzer, I think that's highly dependent on whether you like Spring Sponge. But that could be an option, too.

I think if you are used to Hurricane Dignics09c will be a bit easier to play, but it still requires high effort and precision to use. Dignics05 and Tenergy 05 Hard (which is underappreciated I think).
While personally I've only tried it briefly, the players who used T05H played with a classic chinese big-swing technique successfully. He tried it side by side with his normal T05 and got much higher spin out of it.

Agreed that Fastarc G1 is a great choice.

I think Dignics09c and Nuzn 55 are pretty high effort rubbers themselves, and you run the risk of having the same problem of them being difficult to use to full potential.

I think the Dignics05 is better in that regard, and I also really like the Nuzn 50 and think it's probably a better option for 90% of players than the D09c/nuzn55

I did have a chance to test out a blade with nuzn 50/55 and I felt like the 50 had just as much spin and still had plenty enough power, but was noticeably easier to use than the 55. I might consider going from G1 to Nuzn 50 at some point.

Issues I had with G1 (had it on BH but this also applies for FH): requires sponge i.e. relying on the topsheet alone as one can with H3 does not work, and it behaved not very predictable with low inputs i.e. short game, flicks (a bit different angle or slightly too much/less input and the outcome was not really predictable). Durability same as other ESN rubbers: around 60 hours with boosting after the factory boost/bounciness was gone.

What I would try before going ESN or Butterfly:
1. H3 with lower sponge hardness and/or more booster (layers). OS instead of BS.
2. Battle 3 (one degree less than H3), Battle 3 Purple, Loki Arthur China or Loki Rxton 9
3. Loki Rxton 7 (easy to use sort of hybrid rubber)
4. Battle 2 if the lower trajectory/throw is Ok

Alternatively, you can try to put the same rubbers on a faster blade. H3 on Fzd alc isn't nearly as demanding as putting it on a Korbel for example. The HAL is a blade made for hard hitters and big swings.
