Uda has been playing really well. And so has Hugo up to this point. I think putting it on Hugo's play especially after the first game is not fair to Uda.

It's ultimately one event. We still need to see more. That said, i was pleasantly impressed with how he played throughout thr event and saw evidence of a new level.but I hope he can maintain it.
Oh I agree that Uda played well and to me he should have won. But nevertheless, Hugo, to my eyes, still played horribly and escaped only because of the home factor, anywhere else he'd have lost and rightly so.
Before the match, I thought Uda was playing at a level where he could beat Hugo and I thought maybe the crowd might gove Hugo a boost. I thought the first game might have shown I was reading too much into Uda but the rest of the match did not. And yes, Hugo in Brazil is understandably virtually invincible.

Uda has been playing good for the past year. For this match, I think he really had a chance to beat Hugo. Hugo found not much way to return that long backhand/middle serves, But still, Uda still did not finish that match with several match points. I feel that he probably needs to rethink his approach for end games.
