Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, and good night to everyone,
I’m a table tennis enthusiast from Beijing, China.
I played table tennis from age 10 to 15. Now I'm 30 and I've gotten back into it — I'm really passionate about it now.
I’m just an amateur player. My BH skill is better than my FH.
My favorite table tennis player is Zhang Jike. Now I’ve chosen the Viscaria as my one and only blade, and I don’t plan to change it in the future.
I really like TTD. Here, real players talk about equipment and technique, and it’s refreshingly pure.
Hope to discuss and learn table tennis knowledge with fellow enthusiasts from around the world.
Best regards
Z. S.

Mikael Appelgren is definitely a legend. I also know several other great Swedish players, like Jan-Ove Waldner and Truls Möregårdh.

Maybe I’ll visit soon. It’s easy to visit from Japan. What a dream. To play TT in China or Sweden.
Almost every community or sports park has free outdoor TT tables—though maybe with metal nets, which are more durable than rope nets. And every day, groups of older men and women—50 or even 70 years old, who no longer need to work and can just enjoy life—gather there to play table tennis.
But as for travel, I think there are actually many other places better than Beijing. Such as Chongqing, Chengdu, Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Qingdao, etc. If you have enough time, you can spend 2 to 3 days in each city. Their styles and natural scenery are completely different. Of course, if your first trip leaves you with a good impression, you can always come back a few more times.

Hello from Xian
Hey, are you referring to Xi'an in Shaanxi? I went to Xi'an twice on business in 2025, and the lamb there was really delicious.
Unfortunately, due to my work schedule, I didn't have time to play table tennis at a club there.

Yup, Xi'an in Shaanxi. I've been working here for some time now and really enjoy my time. I'm always happy when I get assigned to work in China 🌞
I'm vegetarian but the locals say the Xinjiang style lamb is very good.

I was just on bilibili for the first time today. I had asked the user Sff lib to check Chinese sites for a comparison of dhs301 to the newer dhs30H and he shared a comment from bilibili which led me to sign up today. Only about a quarter of the comments are in english but still quite helpful and interesting. I probably just need to adjust, or turn on translation.

I tested the battle ii pro blue 39 boosted on my DHS 301 for the last month and I think I'm going back to h3 prov blue 39 and maybe go with dhs301h, possibly dhs301x.

I wanted something less physically demanding, lighter, cheaper but I miss h3.
Part of the reason is I'm just simply used to the softer top sheet with more arc and higher throw. The combined throw with blade and rubber is quite low. It's doable but just prefer the more balanced tradeoff that h3 has. Driving and blocking is so nice but not worth giving up what I lost.

👍🏓

Yes, Bilibili is a pretty good video site. Around 2013, it was just a community for anime fans. But now it has become one of the biggest gathering places for all kinds of video creators in China. Many English-speaking video creators also upload their videos here. The ones I can name off the top of my head are MrBeast, IShowSpeed, and so on. I think it has a built-in subtitle feature that can automatically generate Chinese subtitles for English videos. But I’m not sure whether it has a Chinese-to-English function. Maybe the AI features on your smartphone can do that too.

The 301H is the stiffest and hardest-fibered model in the 301 series, and I think it can indeed help you save more energy.

Many players are looking for alternatives to H3. After all, it needs boosting, which many people find troublesome, including me. But if you’re already used to H3, there really isn’t any other rubber with a similar feel. If what you’re after is less physically demanding, lighter, cheaper, rather than the feel, maybe you could try Loki Arthur China.
