3rd singles is not any easier to handle given the expectation to win with certainty. Hirano has done her job well and very consistently.

Keep in mind JPN lost to KOR 1-3 in MT QF at ATTC 2024, where Togami was in poor form (yet again) and lost to JWJ 1-3, then Shinozuka and Harimoto fell to OJS and JWJ 2-3, respectively. In the 5th-6th match, Harimoto said he was under the weather and didn't expect to be fielded but still got fielded by Tasei, barely edging out HKG 3-2. Therefore, JPN still largely depends on Harimoto. Matsushima is still immature and inconsistent as I told you 11 days ago. Togami is a dead weight (see ATTC 2025 below). Shinozuka/Tanaka/Uda should've been cultivated more when they had the chance for occasions like this.

For MS, Togami and Shinozuka barely edged out Gerassimenko and Alamiyan at ATTC 2024. Therefore, the potential of upset has always been there.

Haven't seen Chinese men play choppers (not many around too I know) recently... last I remember was WCQ losing to HYC during national champs oops. Would be keen to see LSD play Dong since he's quite a BH-oriented player too.

WT finals should be interesting, but would they field Hayata as second singles as usual or let Hashimoto step up?

If they had picked Sato, they would most likely win 3:1 or 3:2 tonight. These 3 chinese can't play choppers. Instead they use hayata who is a free rubber for the chinese. The chinese are favourite to win the final

She probably has been mentally scarred by the beatings she received from the top Chinese in the last 7, 8 years. She was aleady beaten before stepping onto the court.

Worse than Hirano as she was still a junior back then and CNT made a concerted effort to "make her pay". CNT has never given Hayata the same "treatment", AKA level of attention.
