I think we are getting a little carried away while it would be nice for a FR JP final Alexis did very well. LJK is the grand slam from the neck down and used his head in this game. I think Alexis last game fell apart but honestly the tactic change worked perfectly,

And yes AL should have got the 10-9 donkey but every player misses shots he was unfortunate it was that one. It was exactly as NL said, LJK went from trying to go toe to toe with AL to simply returning the ball but with placement all over and smashing the heck out of it when it was high.

Oh well maybe alexis will get more consistant in his late 20s
It isn't obvious but LJK is one of if not my favorite CNT player. I will calm down now. Alexis had better go find a Black Hat to wear for all his future matches.

Well Alexis may be a little disappointing recently considering his debut but consider what he has done for the development of his younger brother and you might feel kinder towards him, without Alexis we have no Felix striving for the reigns.

40 years from now, TT coaches in China will use this as reference / motivation whenever their players are losing badly…

LJK can do any silly pose or walk any silly walk to his heart content coz' this time he has absolute immunity from the CNT coaches!

Bobrow asking his Co (the woman) why top players don’t use a forehand flick instead. 🤦
While you have discussed for a bit whether it was Adam or not, I think that this partly misses the point of commentary roles during matches as Adam could very well have asked Frasier or any other commentator a similar quesrion if he was not playing the expert analyst role in the booth and the other commentator was. Frasier was giving that role over to his partner in the booth. Frasier actually plays table tennis at likely a higher level than Adam and most forum members

Did Japan win the MT champion before?
The last time they made the finals was in 2016, and they lost to China (Fan Zhendong Fang Bo Ma Long Xu Xin Zhang Jike). The last time they won the title was in 1969. They've got a chance to make history if they can bring their 'A' game.

Alexis missed a high ball, but LJK missed a lot too.And while 10-9 is more important, the donkeys broke LJK's momentum then.
If Alexis had prepared us for his donkeys by struggling massively with the likes of Connor Green and Eduardo Ionescu, I would probably have overlooked his donkeys as well.

In the other hand, some have discussed his negative impact on aspects of his brother's emotional stability. I get that it is unlikely that Felix would be so good without Alexis. It's not the point of this at all. I actually think that Alexis's power level and athleticism should make him a more dangerous player than Felix at the highest levels but his lack of discipline is a serious problem. I am no longer going to look at issues like his serve toss issues as incidental, I am now of the view that they are more symptomatic of a larger problem that just makes him hard to coach. He is still young but he is soon going to be the French #3 with all the consequences that ensue from that.

I think it is 50:50 tomorrow.
Will China put defeating Harimoto on Liang or Lin's shoulder?

Can Wang comfortably handle the Sora Hurricane?

Who is going to get the task of handling Togami, the guy who has never loat to him or the guy who is playing better at the moment?

I think it is 55‐45 Japan but since China had plot armor, they are going to win tomorrow. Completely insane given the last week.
