  1. Do I need to lacquer my blade?

The factory sealer on those blades feel quite permanent to me, so probably not required to do again. Yes I totally agree with Tyce, just use 400+ grit sandpaper to roughen the surface a little, to help it stick better.
  2. Thin glue for gluing OX rubbers

VOC glue is not a good option, because if you apply it to the OX sheet it expands like crazy! Yes diluting is an option, but that also dilutes the strength. I'll check out Rev 3, but again I would wonder if the thinner ones are just diluted so may not be strong enough. For anyone that's glued...
  3. Thin glue for gluing OX rubbers

I often need to glue long pimple rubbers with no sponge (OX). I like to use a thin glue to get a smoother finish, because if it's not perfectly smooth it's very noticeable on OX rubbers. I've always used Donic formula first, but I've just realised that this is discontinued, and it seems that...
  4. Any news and info on Zhang Jike's New donic bluegrip j line?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this rubber! 10h to break it in seems a long time to me! Why do you think it gets faster after 10h, is the topsheet losing grip perhaps?
  5. Can anyone talk me either into buying this or leave it alone

I think Tony's point is that the one pictured by lodro above does not mention that it's Kiso Hinoki, so it could by any type of Hinoki, and may not play the same.
  6. Amultart: most underrated Blade out there?

Butterfly Japan can no longer supply them to their distributors, so it's only old stock that's still sold. Some distributors may have stocked up just before it was discontinued, because there's often a surge of demand when a blade is discontinued.
  7. [Single Ply Hinoki] Tibhar H - 1 - 9

Is that a crack that's been fixed?
  8. Loki's QC?

It's hard to test for hardness once they're packaged, but they could weigh them to catagorise them, as softer sponges are lighter. It won't be accurate, but if they could just label them as soft, medium and hard, it will give customers some indication at least.
  9. Amultart: most underrated Blade out there?

Probably not for long though, since it was discontinued less than a year ago.
  10. Gluing OX Rubber With Glue Sheet Question With Sticky Side

I don't know how you can tell which is the stickier side (the only ones I've used were always labelled on the backing of the sheet), but I would highly recommend you seal the blade before you put the glue sheet on, which definitely makes it a lot easier to remove the glue sheet when you have to.
  11. Which Shakehand 1-ply Kiso Hinoki blades are still made?

Thank you, I didn't know Nittaku made one!
  12. Which Shakehand 1-ply Kiso Hinoki blades are still made?

Ahh yes, I forgot about Yinhe! :) With Stuor I'd be concerned whether or not it's genuine Kiso Hinoki.
  13. Which Shakehand 1-ply Kiso Hinoki blades are still made?

Some manufacturers have stopped making Kiso Hinoki blades, mainly due to materials shortages making it much more expensive and probably no longer viable. Darker discontinued the Speed 90 for this reason, although there still seem to be some available (possible old stock?). So my question is...
  14. Looking for forehand hybrid rubber

Do you mean the rubber is different from different batches? How much difference?
  15. Thoughts on Rhyzer Pro 50 and Golden Tango

What a lot of people liked about the original Golden Tango (not the PS), was how sticky it was, and how it retained the stickiness over time. You normally only see this on Chinese topsheet, and even those are getting more rare. A shame it's discontinued, it was popular here as well, but...
  16. Let Detector

    Same here!!! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
  17. Yinhe euro rubber compared

    Euro usually means softer sponge.
  18. A stiff all-wood with a soft feel?

Avalox P700 is like a clipper with an even softer feel. Balsa blades are also stiff with a very soft feel, but they're play quite different to non-balsa blades, which you'll either love or hate.... hard to say until you try one. :ROFLMAO:
  19. HTech instrument to detect boosters.

Great, yet another expensive device that's going to disqualify every rubber that's factory boosted, which is perfectly legal.
