  1. Yinhe Rubber Naming Scheme

I think it's #1 seller because it's their cheapest inverted, so it does extremely well in poorer countries. I agree it's perfectly fine for beginners and even for some intermediate players. It's a lot better than the majority of pre-made bats, that's for sure. Quality control is not the best...
  2. What is the best table tennis ball for matches?

I find there's only minor differences between them, and I actually prefer the D40+ over the DJ40+. The DJ feels a little harder/heavier but is not quite as spinny as the D40+. We use both at our club, I don't need to adjust much (any?) between them. If you're happy with the D40+ and they're...
  3. Old tsp blade

The knot in the middle of the blade surface, and the wonky JTTAA engraving makes me think it's probably not a high-end blade.
  4. Hurricane Neo 3 quality control

Hah hah, that's what I was saying, i.e. DHS has the poorest quality control amongst the major brands.
  5. Hurricane Neo 3 quality control

That's true, but you don't find this much amongst the major brands, mainly amongst the small Chinese brands which are MUCH cheaper.
  6. Hurricane Neo 3 quality control

I've literally glued hundred of H3 Neo over the years, as it's quite popular here. I've never seen one with finger prints on, the surface always looks good. However there are very significant variations in tackiness and also the sponge hardness, even when they're marked as being the same.
  7. BEST PLACE TO BUY TABLE TENNIS BALLS

I assume they're not ITTF approved? If not, the "3 star" means nothing, anyone can put that on their balls.
  8. Victas VS>401 my impressions

I've tried that one too, having the same thought. I was disappointed though, the topsheet just doesn't have that same tack/grip and the throw felt a lot lower (for brush loops).
  9. Questions for Dimitrij Ovtcharov and Lee Sang Su

Dima: Can you give some tips on how to learn your tomahawk serve?
  10. 𝙴𝚇𝙿𝙴𝚁𝚃 𝚃𝙰𝙻𝙺𝚂. "𝚁𝚎𝚟𝚒𝚜𝚎𝚍" 𝚎𝚍𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗 𝚘𝚏 𝚊𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚜𝚙𝚒𝚗 𝚛𝚞𝚋𝚋𝚎𝚛𝚜.

If they are indeed proposing a change, surely this needs to be put to a vote at the AGM, so that the users of such rubber get a say? The wording above sounds like 'Igor wording', not official ITTF wording. Ironically a true Frictionless Anti actually produces the minimum amount of 'chaotic...
  11. $12 Fake Tenergy Review

How would Butterfly Japan stop it? The copyright laws in China are much weaker compared to most Western countries and they're rarely (ever?) enforced.
  12. A table tennis AI???

I think it's a fascinating idea that does have some potential. My question is 'how does your AI learn' and 'does it remember all previous conversions'?
  13. ITTF Racquet Control Changes for 2025 (...don't shoot the messenger!)

No, there is nothing in the current laws that would make them illegal.
  14. OOAK Forums insistently discriminating against @Igorponger 🤬

Nope, no one is blocking you, the forum just seems to time-out for you, which appears to be related to routing between you and the OOAK forum server, or something to do with your setup (VPN perhaps?). It may also be related to the massive swarm of bots that have been targeting the forum in the...
  15. Tips and Vlog videos

That's good effort Matt!! Love some of your tricky serves and returns! (y)
  16. Butterfly 2025 New Blades: Outer Force ALC, CAF, ZLC

Sounds like a lot more clever marketing to me. The only reason 'innerforce' blades were created was because most composite blades had the composite layers near the surface, i.e. they were 'outerforce', so they could see a demand for blades where the composite layers were closer to the core. Now...
  17. Yasaka Bold Dragon - Review

Since this rubber is not on the official Yasaka website, although it IS on the ITTF LARC, I suspect it's a China-only release, very much like the Yasaka Zap, which I believe was made by Chinese manufacturer Palio. I'm not even sure if Yasaka endorses this product, or if it's just made by a...
  18. CORKSCREW --the best rewarding type of spin.

    Nicely illustrated, I agree completely.
  19. CORKSCREW --the best rewarding type of spin.

It's when the axis of rotation is along the horizontal line between you and your opponent, so it's basically pure sidespin, either left or right. Don't know why they call it corkscrew, but this seems to be a commonly accepted term.
  20. CORKSCREW --the best rewarding type of spin.

Yes I thought so too...if it was pure sidespin the return would likely not have gone into the net.
