  1. Using a softer rubber in a cold venue?

I think 15 degrees is rare but like 16-17 can be pretty common. But that is a pretty off topic discussion, the real question is whether a softer rubber helps at lower temperatures or not.
  2. Using a softer rubber in a cold venue?

I often play in a colder venue around 10-12 degree celsius (50F) in the winter. Would it make sense to use a softer rubber than usual there as the cold makes the rubber feel harder? And vice versa should you use a harder rubber/sponge when you play above 30 degrees celsius (like 86F or so)? Or...
  3. Affordable first custom racket for ambitious new adult player

Most coaches in germany (where you seem to be from) seem to suggest slower tensor style rubbers like vega intro on a 5 ply wood. Not saying you can't start with chinese rubbers, chinese players do it too but they also tend to start at a very early age, probably not many adult beginners...
  4. Please Explain this FH video instruction (especially korean guys)

So bat angle should stay constant and not wrap over the ball?
  5. Please Explain this FH video instruction (especially korean guys)

Here it is https://youtube.com/shorts/CbVjElJqp48?feature=share What is he saying?
  6. Please Explain this FH video instruction (especially korean guys)

Does anyone especially one who speaks Korean what this guy here means? You the bat angle turn more closed during a loop stroke? Is this good instruction? https://youtube.com/shorts/CbVjElJqp48?feature=share
  7. Penhold RBP grip turning grip "open" or not?

Are you the MLFM guy who made the PH grip video on YouTube?
  8. Penhold RBP grip turning grip "open" or not?

I found out my RPB works better when my blade is slightly more open (i almost exclusively play RPB except for push, so also for block and "flat hit" albeit the latter rarely happens). For that I have twisted my hand on the handle slightly counter clockwise (I'm a lefty) so bat is more open on...
  9. Tactics Against Player with Long Arms

In theory I think jpen players are less vulnerable at the body and more vulnerable at either wide corner both forehand and backhand. So if he is a really good jpen player he will be good at blocking in front of the body and also in getting out of the way and hitting a forehand so hitting the...
  10. Weak FH , good FH rubbers. Any advice ?

I think Chinese rubbers can be fine and I have used them (and never had an issue buying from aliexpress either) but we shouldn't go around here in the forum and tell people they are stupid if they want to spend money on a more expensive rubber. Suggesting a Chinese rubber was totally fine here...
  11. Penhold in Europe

I don't think it will ever grow in Europe but I'm not sure there is a limitation if you start to exclusively learn rbp from the get go. The saying always was rpb takes longer to make it good but maybe the issue was that xu xin and others started with tbp. Felix lebrun had a pretty polished...
  12. Penhold in Europe

Thanks. I used some sand paper around a thick pen to sand the cork a little better fitting, now it feels really well in the hand. I haven't played with it yet though I'm sure forehand will work fine but will be interesting whether I'm able to get the proper more open blade angle for rpb.
  13. Penhold in Europe

I tried out a jpen blade and really liked it but I want to play rpb so I got another sanwei m8 (which also is my primary cpen blade) for 15 bucks and cut of a piece of the handle and put on a piece of jpen cork. Not sure if it will work but I give it a try.
  14. Medium Pips... for?

Didn't 2 time Olympic champion deng yaping use medium pips? Her game style seemed to be a bit like mima ito, definitely offensive.
  15. Liang Jingkun suspended

I definitely think that it isn't as easy anymore for new Chinese to dominate. Guys like wang hao oder liu guoliang came up at age 19-20 and destroyed all the european players. The last Chinese player who did that was FZD but many now take until like 23-24 to reach their peak and have some...
  16. Liang Jingkun suspended

Wang hao also was suspended at some point. I think LJK could come back from this like the other mentioned guys did but the real question is if CNT sees a perspective for LJK from a performance perspective. LJK will be 28 at the next Olympics and wcq has clearly surpassed him in performance so...
  17. Stolen Blade

So really the guy who ordered it likely got it and lied that he didn't get it, right? That someone at the post office stole it would be extremely unlikely, wouldn't it?
  18. Players as Coaches

I think some countries have send less staff to some tournaments due to covid restrictions and then used other players to coach.
