    I have the Korbel and IMO you can't go wrong with any rubber. It's a very good blade with lots of feelings. Just be carefull with the rubber weight, it can be head heavy.

    I think a handle should absorb sweat, if not it woud be uncomfortable. I put varnish on a cheap blade handle and it was not a very pleasant feeling. Feel sticky. You can try it on a cheap blade to see if you like it. Once it's sealed there is no coming back, unless you sand the handle.

    I changed my blade from a outer ALC to a 5 wood blade. I bought a Petr Korbel to slow down and have more control. I keep the same rubber i'm used to, one change at a time. I really like it! Every thing is a bit slower, but you have a big gain in control and precision. You should give it a try...

    Butterfly Petr Korbel. I'm going back to an all-wood blade. I really like the feeling of this blade. With fast rubbers it's a very good allround setup.

    They come with a sticky protective sheet. Cut to size and remove the plastic covering. Maybe this wil add longevity to the rubber.

    If you play inside your garage i would look for an indoor table. Look in the classified ads, you might find something nice for a low price. If humidity is a concern you can use a dehumidifier. It will also be more fun for you to play with low humidity.

    You can drill one or two small holes and fill the crack with epoxy or fiberglass resin. With a syringe you might be able to have enough pressure to distribute the glue inside the crack. It's broken anyway, could be a fun thing to try.
