Ball placement and consistency is king. If you play wide to his BH he will have a hard time to punch. Aiming to corners or down the line will earn you more points than just speed.

Pimples geometry and spacing have a lot to do on the throw angle. For exemple T05 and T64 share the same sponge, but the pimple geometry cause a very different throw angle. Be happy.

Yes, you won't notice a difference. I used some rubbers that looked worst than that.
