  1. Ladies and Gentleman, Dreams do come true

It's the same Shore O durometer that @TensorBackhand and the member that posted the video a few days ago have. The one that says XO on the dial. It's super cheap at $15 and I don't expect high accuracy, but I at least got good consistency from it. Maybe I got lucky with mine.
  2. Ladies and Gentleman, Dreams do come true

When I get back to Vietnam, I'm going to have to make a video showing the consistency of my durometer. Feels like everyone else got a dud durometer that has crazy inconsistent readings but me.
  3. Ladies and Gentleman, Dreams do come true

I wonder if your model is different from mine. I measure all my rubbers the same way with two hands. When I measure C-1, I get 45d every single time. I can measure a harder rubber like Loki Rxton 3 Blue and get 51 consistently every time too. I have noticed the 'pressing hard' technique can...
  4. Ladies and Gentleman, Dreams do come true

@TensorBackhand I just noticed that your measuring pin looks a bit different than mine in your picture. My meausuring pin is like a ballpoint pen tip, exactly like the model that igor posted in the video above. Is yours the same?
  5. Ladies and Gentleman, Dreams do come true

That's bizarre. Are you coming from the topsheet or the sponge? What's the rubber resting on when you measure? Also, try not pushing down with your thumbs as the main pressure, but use all 4 fingers with force downwards equally. Edit: One more thing, I just noticed that your measuring pin...

I must've gotten a super soft Rxton 5. After 3 layers of baby oil, it went all the way down to 48d. It's now pretty dead after the baby oil boosting wore off though. I can probably get another month or so with it I reboost, but I'm not motivated enough to try. I hope Loki fixes their...

Are you measuring from the topsheet or the sponge? You will get different measurements depending on which side you come from. My 39 Battle 2 Pro (orange sponge) is 50d from the topsheet but 51d from the sponge. Also, try the technique I mentioned. You don't have to press down hard with all your...
  8. Ladies and Gentleman, Dreams do come true

Mine came with an instruction sheet showing the proper technique. You're supposed to hold the durometer with both hands, with the dial facing towards you. Use only your thumbs and you pointer fingers. The pointer fingers are cradling the bottom of the durometer and your thumbs are on top of...
  9. Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

Well that sucks. I remember there was a time when the Bloom Power without the ITTF number was in the LARC. I guess the new version with the ITTF number printed on the topsheet means that they've removed the old entry and those without are no longer legal.
  10. Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

I thought Bloom Power was in the LARC and was legal even without having the ITTF number on it. Assuming that we want to use the ones without the number in competition, don't we just need to have the ITTF number ready for the referee to reference? I do plan to play some tournaments in the next...
  11. Looking for a blade/set up recommendation

That's a pretty good combo. This is what a developing player would use in China based on what people who frequent Chinese forums say. While some people might like thin flexy blades like Acoustic with soft rubbers like Vega Euro, the combination of the two feels absolutely terrible to me...
  12. Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

I should start playing TT in Hanoi. All of the CLB in Saigon are too cheap to turn on the air conditioner!
  13. Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

Can you give us a sense of what the heat and humidity is like when you play? Both longle and Zwill play in hot and humid environments and I'm wondering if that plays any role in the glue bond being weakened.
  14. How much does physical training help in TT?

There are different kinds of physical fitness. Absolute limit strength seems to be unimportant since the smallest and most noodly of players can still hit just as hard as the strongest. Agility and stamina seem to be pretty big factors though. I've never been winded playing TT matches since the...
  15. The older I get, the more aiya forehand I have

@Tony's Table Tennis Is the Rxton 3 Pink the same hardness of Rxton 3 Blue? I like the Blue but it's a bit too hard at 52d. If Pink is just slightly softer but with the same qualities, I think it'd be pretty good.
  16. Returning player

The Classic is too thin and flexy with the new ball. It'll be both too slow and not very stable. The Extra is now a decent all-around blade, but I found it also too slow and didn't like the feel.
  17. My Personal Guide to Rubbers on Aliexpress

I bought them from a specific seller in Vietnam off Shopee so I don't think you can order the same unfortunately. Did you get a chance to weigh the sheets you got?
  18. Yinhe QC issues or unlucky sheet?

I had an older guy in Vietnam tell me never to use water on my rubber recently since he said it destroyed the rubber. He probably had a bad experience with tap water there too. I use distilled water (nước cất) and it keeps my topsheets in great condition.
  19. Yinhe QC issues or unlucky sheet?

At least with the Moon Speed, it's showing wear where the should be none like near the base of the rubber where the ball or your fingers don't (or at least shouldn't) contact. This makes me think that there's something chemical going on. Do you use tap water? Maybe you have hard or highly...
  20. My Personal Guide to Rubbers on Aliexpress

The Mercury 2 comes in 2.0 and 2.2. The 2.0 sheets weigh about 60g and the 2.2 sheets weigh 65g uncut. In my experience, the 65g sheets are way better in terms of speed and tackiness.
