  1. Next step up from all round evolution

A nice OFF- all wood blade with around 6.0mm thickness is probably a good bet. Clipper will feel maybe too thick and stiff coming from a flexy 5.4mm blade. Xiom Offensive S, Tibhar Stratus Powerwood, Sanwei Fextra are all great.
  2. Compare between Mizuno shoes

I'd say they are both equally wide. The Wave Drive 9 is a better shoe in terms of build imo. Let me know what you would be paying for each and I'll tell you which would be a better deal.
  3. Loki Rxton III Pink Review

Rxton 3 Blue I think is my favorite FH rubber out of the few I've tried (which includes Mercury 2, Jupiter 3, Rxton 5, Battle 2 Pro). It has more better grip, better blocking, and better top end speed than Mercury 2. It's more predictable and easy to use than Rxton 5 or Battle 2 Pro. The only...
  4. Advice on my next blade & rubbers. Primorac off- with cj8000 biotech??

What makes you think Sanwei quality control is that much worse than expensive brands? I have 3 Sanwei Fextras and they are all within 20 hz of each other in terms of hardness. They play all consistently well. I just tested out a $100 Nittaku Ludeack this week and I still prefer all 3 of the...
  5. How do you know if your Yinhe Mercury 2 (or II) has 2.0mm sponge or 2.2mm sponge?

I've bought 6 sheets. 3 were 65g and 3 were 60g. My heavier sheets of mercury 2 have been faster and spinner than the lighter ones. I've assumed this was due to sponge thickness but I guess maybe it was just variations in the batch. Either way, pay attention to how the lighter ones play...
  6. How do you know if your Yinhe Mercury 2 (or II) has 2.0mm sponge or 2.2mm sponge?

The 2.0mm medium ones weigh around 60 grams and the max medium ones weigh 65 grams. That's the only way I've been able to tell. There's no difference in the packaging that I've been able to discern.
  7. shoes help (don't have table tennis shoes)

I have a pair of Wave 9's and I think I'll be sticking with Wave drives for the future. They are inoffensive (they actually look pretty good tbh) and can be worn in many situations. I brought them to Tokyo to play TT but I was also able to use them for lifting weights (the lateral support and...
  8. Butterfly 05fx alternatives

@mat I haven't tried Butterfly 05fx before, but you can search the reviews. One guy said it was faster than 05fx but less spin due to more the fast rebound. I don't like too soft or bouncy rubbers so I'm the wrong guy to talk to about how it plays.
  9. Greetings from a SANWEI Official

That one is on my short list of first inner carbon blades to try out. Give us an in depth review of it when you get the chance. Thanks!
  10. Butterfly 05fx alternatives

C-1 is not soft. It's 45 degrees sponge. From the topsheet it measures 48 degrees. If you want a soft Fastarc, then S-1 is what you're looking for. The sponge is 40 degrees. From the sponge it measures 41 degrees. These measurements were taken by me with a durometer.
  11. Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

    There's M-, M+, H-, and H+ M- is 45 degree sponge (I know because I used the durometer on mine). Long has the H- I think.
  12. Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

The topsheet for the Rxton Blue took a few hours to break in and maybe booster on the sponge doesn't do the job. I've never tried it before, but I think one of those massage guns would do a pretty good job of breaking in a rubber from the topsheet side.
  13. Advice to improve my game.

Don't mean to go off-topic but how did you edit your videos? I like how they are cut precisely to get rid of the dead time. Did you do it manually or did that Wondershare/Filmora software help with that? I plan to film some play footage so I can fix my game too. Also this sounds like exactly...
  14. Share your Racket's Photo

It's a blue Fextra. More accurately, it's a Pro Fextra V. Here's a listing: https://aliexpress.com/item/1005005364534961.html It's a special blue version of the Fextra that was made for Playa Ping Pong store. It's supposed to be the same as the red one, but the handle feels a bit chunkier and...
  15. Breaking rubber on the table is worst feeling

I feel for you but... Better the rubber than your finger!
  16. My Personal Guide to Rubbers on Aliexpress

Are you sure about that? 😆
  17. Mizuno Q Quality a cheap and performant tensor that matches Tenergy 05 at half price

I recently bought a Mizuno Q table tennis shirt from TT Kokusai (was on sale for about $16) and I'm wondering if this thread was the subliminal catalyst for it.
  18. Ladies and Gentleman, Dreams do come true

How about Reebok Pump rubber. Just a few pumps and drastically increase the pore size of your sponge. Go from linear dense rubber to bouncy catapult rubber in seconds!
  19. On the road to recovery...

Alright this is a topic I delved deeply into when I had a LCL tear doing jiu jitsu. I was fully recovered 3 months later and squatting near my max. There's a good book out there by Lyle MacDonald called "Optimal Nutrition for Injury Recovery" that I referenced pretty often. I'll try to summarize...
  20. Ladies and Gentleman, Dreams do come true

I don't think that's the case. I bought Type O specifically because I saw bad consistency from Type A durometers from channels like ANATOMIC EDGE on Youtube. The Type A durometer has a thin sharp needle for the measuring pin. The Type O has a thicker rounded measuring pin. The Type A durometer...
