  1. Cheap alternative to D05?

MX-P has a drop off in performance after a while but MX-S doesn't? I am not questioning you but I am really curious. I used to have a sheet of MX-P on a wood blade before it got stolen. I have a sheet of MX-S lying around because the sponge is a bit hard for me so it is just sitting there. I am...
  2. Cheap alternative to D05?

Why not get a used Tenergy 05 or Dignics 05 from a clubmate for reduced price? Somebody at the club gotta has a worn out Tenergy or Dignics that you can get for cheap or they like you, maybe get it for free? Also my club coach does have some used Tenergy and Dignics once in a while. I think...
  3. Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

I mean, I enjoy this thread. Hey I am not the subject being grilled here so I can sit back and relax. But on a more serious tone, all the back and forth here actually led me to learn something I don't know about DHS such as the difference between #20 and #22 sponge. I guess #20 sponge is before...
  4. Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

Thank you for summing it up. Honestly I think all that info you put down got lost in the threads somewhere. Or did it get lost in a thread before I joined the forum? Good to hear. Another thing, to add this, is that for National version, I heard there is less tackiness so for one, some people...
  5. Returning to table tennis, lots of change! Did I buy the wrong blade and rubbers?

G-1 just would not die..... I am surprises she used that set-up well. Good for her. I would have recommended C-1 to start off with. But if she is good at using G-1, good for her!!!!
  6. Penhold Rubber Selection Advice

I said this before. With inverted rubber, it is hard to execute RPB without fingers slipping. If the other side is long pips, grip is a lot easier. To be fair, at the amateur level, RPB often has a lot of side spins which poses problems for the opponents. But as to be fair, RPB at the amateur...
  7. Penhold Rubber Selection Advice

I have experience with H3 regular and H3 neo. I have boosted both. And after you reboosted a couple times, you cannot really tell the difference. Neo supposedly pre-boosted in the factory. The price difference is not that big so might as well get the boosted neo version. Also neo version...
  8. Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

Serious question. How does DHS decide what is worthy of Provincial vs National level of sponge? How do you hand pick those things? Or do you pull out an instrument of some sort. I heard the rumor that for Butterfly, the sponsored player get sheets derived from middle of a huge sheet while the...
  9. Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

I am losing track of this thread. If LAC quality control is not good, why would you pay $20+ a sheet and throw one out of two sheets away after a week or so. I rather save the money and buy Dignics 09c with it. Ok, just kidding about buying Dignics 09c. As for H3 commercial vs provincial vs...
  10. Penhold Rubber Selection Advice

Your form looks fine to me. Just as long as you stick with commercial, you are not making any mistakes by trying skyline v.s reguar hurricane. Once you decide to try penhold, just be ready to move. You should play whatever style you enjoy.
  11. Cheap alternative to D05?

Ok so here is my issue with the other recommendations. The OP clearly wants something similar to Dignics 05 but on a budget. Therefore that is clearly not going to happen. Dignics 05 has quite a bit of catapult to it so anything Chinese is out of the window. What is the point of perfecting the...
  12. Xiom Vega Pro and Vega Europe - Still a good combination?

Yes some people do use Vega Pro on both side. However I see that you use Vega Pro FH and Vega Europe BH. Why not start off with Vega Pro max FH and Vega Asia max BH? I can see how that will work for you. I EJ a lot but I know what I am doing. I have six copies of the same blade. Always...
  13. Penhold Rubber Selection Advice

I agree with that. I played with Jpen and long pips on the back, before RPB was invented. I quite enjoyed using long pips. Nowadays, I also watch Chinese youtube channels where the cpen uses long pips as the main rubber with occasion RPB. It looks like if you know how to use long pips such as...
  14. Xiom Vega Pro and Vega Europe - Still a good combination?

To add to the thread since I have played with the Xiom Vega series more. I have read and I agree that Xiom Vega Pro is a good Tenergy 05 alternative. Not as powerful but very good rubber. It does produce that clicky sound tat Tenergy produces. I do enjoy Xiom Vega Europe and I have a couple...
  15. Cheap alternative to D05?

I second Glayzer. Big Dipper and AK47 are cheap but they do not have much if any catapult effect. I mean, do you want Xiom Vega Intro? it is as cheap as it gets with some catapult effects.
  16. Acuda P2 vs Rakza 7

I have only used Rakza 7 but I trust @Lazer Just procure whichever one is more available to you in your area and maybe cheaper. I am not familiar with Donic rubber and I have Bluefire M2 ready for me. But I partially got it for the color, blue. And I want to see if I like Donic rubbers or not.
  17. Returning to table tennis, lots of change! Did I buy the wrong blade and rubbers?

There is no good enough or not good enough. It all depends on how you play. I use Hurricane on the forehand. BH is Rakza 7 soft or C-1 2.0mm sponge. Eventually I hope to be "good enough" to upgrade to max sponge for Rakza 7 soft. Then after that I don't care. Should I upgrade to Rakza 7...
  18. Penhold Rubber Selection Advice

Ok, the OP asked the question in 2019 and has not been seen in the forum since 2019 so I am not sure why we are resurrecting this thread but this might be helpful for others who have similar questions. I grew up playing Jpen. Then Cpen with RPB. Only in the last 5 years I converted to...
  19. Is it possible to improve with only robot training?

Ok, I have waited to render my opinion. A few things: One, robot is good to reverse bad habits. But you need to videotape yourself. You do NOT want to end up reinforcing bad habits/strokes so be careful about that. Two, Seth Pech does have a very good video about using robot. He will have...
  20. A somewhat flexible composite blade with a soft feeling

You ready to leave ALL+ all wood blade? I don't think you are asking for opinions. There are some affordable inner carbon blades I like or "not-too-fast" blades that I like. Yes SDC's wait time for blade right now is six months. I have been waiting forever for Sergio.
