  1. High throw vs low throw rubber (high / low arc) thoughts

Yes, at high speeds when loop driving I agree. I wrote somewhere else as much - when you have a good stroke, all that changes when you loop drive is the ball trajectory and the speed of impact at which bottoming out occurs. But for me, looping is about heavy topspin. Loop driving I consider a...
  2. High throw vs low throw rubber (high / low arc) thoughts

A player does create the arc when placing the ball - there are ways to loop with Tenergy 05 with low arc. What you mean is that for the same type of loop, different rubbers respond differently, and that is what I meant when quoting Paul Drinkhall.
  3. Practice play and game play so far apart!

Don't worry about Andy - he will be fine and is just impatient. He has a really good coach who is just going through the logical progression of understanding his student before tailoring his lessons. His latest practice session bears that out.
  4. Practice play and game play so far apart!

You should have stopped at my Club. I played so badly today that you would probably have bageled me.
  5. High throw vs low throw rubber (high / low arc) thoughts

I think I will quote a high level player (Paul Drinkhall) who was comparing MX-P and MX-S: The last part is the most relevant - we all do this a little differently to each other. For your contact point and technique, you may create a different effect with Tenergy 05 than I do. Here is...
  6. Practice play and game play so far apart!

"Rambling" came from Carl, not me. I blame Carl. Where is Carl to take the blame when you need him? BTW, I have no original thought on TT - I just take what other people have told me and try to make it sound like I understand it, which in my mind is writing 10 pages on it because 1 page can...
  7. Practice play and game play so far apart!

Finally, we can see that there is a bug going round. Der Echte knows how to infect people with his rambling style. Now I know why Carl posts so much. And 42andbackpains as well. Der Echte got them. NL knows it now.
  8. Practice play and game play so far apart!

One last comment - there are high level players with relatively bad backspin games. The ones who got lucky that their opponents loop the first push from them so they never have to really push, or the ones who are good at countering topspin and never really played someone with a good backspin...
  9. Practice play and game play so far apart!

I will say this confidently - you will not beat me pushing a majority of my serves long, and if they are long serves, you will push them long if you push them. Ultimately, these recommendations depend on what ultimate rating you are aiming for and how often you want to have to reconstruct your...
  10. Practice play and game play so far apart!

By attack, most people mean some form of topspin shot. I (and I am sure corbytoffee would agree) is not asking for the ball to be killed, but just to be played with some form of topspin, whether a roll, as you are advocating, or a good spinny topspin, or a loop drive/drive. Anyone can push a...
  11. What do you think of the LCD table?

Gardos commented negatively on the bounce I believe,
  12. Nexy Zealot Review

That review was posted on this forum as well in the Reviews section. Paul Drinkhall has also done one.
  13. Sweden Extra

5 out of 5 rating for Sweden Extra http://www.yasaka.se/products/sweden-extra/ This is a relatively "new" blade by Yasaka (more on "new" later) - I got it by an error of sorts. I wanted a Yasaka Extra and tried to order a pair of blades with the same weight from Megaspin. They told me they had...
  14. Practice play and game play so far apart!

Let's just say corbytoffee's approach is correct here - pushing long balls is just bad and should not be trained. It's one of those things that people should remain bad at so that they learn to loop quickly.

  16. Choosing New Blade

Well, try the blades of people you hang around and see what works. IMO, it is hard to play with composite unless you have time to train. Because composite always has subtle behavior that you need to adjust for.

42andbackpains, Now we know the real reason why you have back pains. Why have more pictures of pretty women appeared on this site in the past few days since you started posting?
  19. Nexy Zealot Review

I wouldn't be surprised if Zealot is basically Nexy's version of the YEO (with Nexy's originality added), which is not my kind of looping blade.

The braces are back... was a bad idea to stop using them... I am frustrated by some shoulder tendinitis at the moment. Thanks for the kind words. If you come to Trolley Car, I will hold a party in your honor! I still have to get Len Yang before he gets too good for me to have any hope. He...
