  1. “Sealing effects performance”…. Is there any proof?

In the beginning yes, but it will rough up at usage. The point is the wood is protected from moisture. But then again , sweat is not a big problem. It just makes it look not so nice… Cheers L-zr
  2. “Sealing effects performance”…. Is there any proof?

The point was looks nothing else. The one to left is sealed with linseed oil. The one to the right is naked. The one to the left is played about twice as much as the right one. If you seal with varnish it holds up even better… Cheers L-zr
  3. Donic Blade/Rubber or a Different Brand?

Donic blades are great, my current favorite is Appelgren WC 89. It has a soft outer layer of spruce and a carbon layer underneath. I don’t know anything about the two blades you mention. The WC 89 series is made by Soulspin (German blade maker). They also make the blade I am currently playing...
  4. “Sealing effects performance”…. Is there any proof?

I doesn’t do much for durability, but it makes a difference in looks. A sealed handle will look nice for a much longer time… Cheers L-zr
  5. “Sealing effects performance”…. Is there any proof?

It hardens quicker and doesn’t penetrate deep so it will form a lid on top. It’s excellent for wood preservation and has been used for hundreds of years… Cheers L-zr
  6. Help with forehand topspin

Excellent camera angle for this purpose. You are jumping and moving your left leg backward, this will forfeit your weigh transfer. Ideally your left leg should be planted with all the weight on it at the end of the stroke. Cheers L-zr
  7. How big is genuine Cybershape blade.

Any particular reason why the pen blade is bigger? Cheers L-zr
  8. San Francisco looking for training partner.

As far as reboosting goes I never do it I just adjust to the different characteristics and change about every 6 months. The only reason being I think it’s a huge pain. Since H3 is climate dependent and I need to deal with this. As a matter of fact a fresh H3 is more climate dependent than an...
  9. San Francisco looking for training partner.

It’s just a number, ratings are different in all countries. In Sweden I think the absolute maximum points you can get is 2500, then everything else is adjusted from that… We normally start anywhere 400 - 700. The coach decides this. And it will take a few years for the rating to normalize to a...
  10. “Sealing effects performance”…. Is there any proof?

I happened to have this at home. Yes cooked is probably better, it hardens faster, but the raw one penetrates deeper If you want to protect wood well, First raw , wait for it to harden, then cooked on top. But this procedure most certainly will change the characteristics of the blade… Cheers L-zr
  11. “Sealing effects performance”…. Is there any proof?

I’m making an experiment, I’m using raw linseed oil only on one blade no varnish. This is much better for the wood but possibly it will change the properties more, we shall see. I used this a lot on boats for wood preservation. Cheers L-zr
  12. “Sealing effects performance”…. Is there any proof?

I use old fashioned varnish. I don’t think it matters. Just make sure it’s a thin layer, and always rough it it up s little bit afterwards with a fine sandpaper to make the glue grab better. Cheers L-zr
  13. Looking for an extremely tacky rubber.

Definitely not what my SNT was like. It was less tacky than my H3 provincial… Cheers L-zr
  14. Looking for an extremely tacky rubber.

729 Bloom power is still tackier than H3. At least my last sheets. Cheers L-zr
  15. What to expect!

No problem, I have gone through this. You will need to hit harder. Brushing will be a lot easier and engaging the sponge harder. On lighter shots you have a lower angle of attack so you will need to open your racket a bit. This is due to the tackiness but this effect gets smaller the harder you...
  16. S-series S-CZ

I got one recently. Weight was 82grams. I like it better than my Basaltec inner. It may be a notch faster, but it feels sharper whereas the Basaltec inner feels a little dull. I use H3 and 729 dragon F. Haven’t weighed it with rubbers on, but it’s definitely lighter than the Basaltec. Cheers L-zr
  17. DHS H3 and all versions

Quality control. Players > National > Provoncial > Commercial Cheers L-zr
  18. XIOM C55 Impressions and Comparison with H3N

Donic is easy too whereas DHS is horrible except for the hardness. Cheers L-zr
  19. Virtuoso OFF- and Rakza 7, now seeking a faster rubber

Rakza 7 is plenty fast. I don’t think G1 is much faster… G1 has less catapult for sure. Maybe a little higher top speed but You have to hit hard. Cheers L-zr
