  1. WTT Champions Xinxiang 2023

Nah FZD showed the world that he cracked LJK's game in the last WTTC. LJK really needs to slim down if he wants to match FZD.
  2. WTT Champions Xinxiang 2023

Turns out Fan Zhendong still plays smart, just exploiting the slow movement of Liang Jingkun, especially by targeting the middle and FH. He's not gonna allow a 2019 WTTC repeat any time soon lol
  3. Is it the right approach to try to return every backspin serve with a backhand flick?

Yes he's right, chiquita against pure heavy backspin is very hard, but still possible especially if you already know the spin. The easier stroke is actually the strawberry which also produces a sidetopspin but is really easy to use against heavy underspin.
  4. Is it the right approach to try to return every backspin serve with a backhand flick?

You shouldn't be only getting 1/3 success rates especially against spin you already know. This is a sign of technique deficiency and it means that something is wrong with the stroke or your understanding of how to overcome underspin with the chiquita. But the chiquita is a very advanced stroke...
  5. WTT Champions Xinxiang 2023

Yes I agree, LJK's BH is really amazing - he also does it with a super short stroke. I would argue that Liang Jingkun has more power than Fan Zhendong on the BH and if Fan Zhendong insists on a BH powerloop battle with LJK he will lose, just like 2019 WTTC. LJK's real weakness is his mobility...
  6. WTT Champions Xinxiang 2023

Imo he is a real beast and has the most CNT play style out of all the non CNT players - attacking hard and early with a lot of spin. This match against Fan Zhendong he was producing shot quality matching or even exceeding that of Wang Chuqin imo. It was a miracle and testament to Fan Zhendong's...
  7. WTT Champions Xinxiang 2023

Wait when did he win 4-1 against Xu Xin?
  8. WTT Champions Xinxiang 2023

Wow Lim Jonghoon is attacking like a madman now and all of his crazy shots are landing - will he close this out?!
  9. WTT Champions Xinxiang 2023

I noticed that Lim Jonghoon is adopting the serve receive position with the right foot in front now rather than the unconventional left foot in front position (for a lefty). Quite interesting that he changed something so fundamental in his game.
  10. Post your latest EJ purchase

wow, i see you made a Cybershape too :D
  11. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

:( :( :( that's really bad news, I hope you recover fast! This is also why I refuse to play TT/badminton in arenas with shit flooring because stuff like this can really mess you up.
  12. Service with non-tacky rubber

This is why I always use tacky rubber for FH - it's all about the length control on serves :P One tip is to think of it as a momentum transfer, if your arm moves backwards and/or sideways after the serve - it will take away forward momentum and make it easier to shorten the serve. Either...
  13. WTT Champions Xinxiang 2023

Most of the CNT have quite strong personalities and individuality - it's just that English media doesn't report a lot about them and that they don't express much of their thoughts in English. LJK's behaviour is not something "special" so to speak.
  14. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I reversed my losing streak last session. Today I won most matches against my training partner who improved so much and is a serving monster now with deadly ZJK style reverse pendulum serves. Biggest change I did was to not be so gung ho against his opening loops, and to use a safe sidespin...
  15. WTT Champions Xinxiang 2023

Wow Liang Jingkun is really becoming a grinder now, he just grinded Wang Chuqin down and withstood all the pressure from Wang Chuqin's stinging topspins, almost always forcing the error. Maybe Wang Chuqin should give chopblocking a go haha, Liang Jingkun doesn't seem to like those a lot...
  16. Top 10 Blades. Do you agree?

Wow thanks for the intro, am always looking out for good TT channels
  17. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Agreed - the real spinny loops are a nightmare to counterloop in general. It's like handling a hot potato. When I do these loops barely does anyone counterloop it back with good percentages too. Now I really admire Ma Long's counterlooping skill - he really is quite insanely good to have such...
  18. How does paddle palace come up with their rubber speed/spin ratings?

How do you measure tangential coefficient of restitution though?
  19. How does paddle palace come up with their rubber speed/spin ratings?

So higher tangential coefficient of restitution= better spin? Normal coefficient of restitution = bounce speed? For me there are some rubbers which are easy AF to create and control spin for eg Dignics and Hurricane - none of the other rubbers even come close (unless boosted) and this is why...
