  1. Top 10 Blades. Do you agree?

Lol - watching Ti Long is way, way better for your game than watching ERT.
  2. WTT Champions Xinxiang 2023

Great win for Filus who really bamboozled Hugo with all the twiddling attacks on the BH. But it's strange to see Hugo who probably has the most power out of anyone on the tour struggle against choppers. Isn't it just about serving long, then FH loopkill until the other player gives up? And...
  3. WTT Champions Xinxiang 2023

Agreed - there are not that many "robotic players" in the top 20. All of them have very unique weapons and style even among the CNT, and I too find it very condescending to call anyone who has reached these heights in the sport as "robotic". It seems to be steeped in some stereotypes.
  4. TESTING DARKO JORGIC'S TABLE TENNIS BAT!

Was wondering where did you get to on that aspect? I've been experimenting with this a bit, and for me the timing of the "step" is very important. For eg the FH loop stroke ends with weight transferred to the left foot, and this feels like stepping on the left foot. It seems that I get a lot...
  5. What are tactics for men to play women?

Extreme spin + spin/placement variations with both pushes and loops usually wins the games against quick countering players. But if they can still counter those then they're just better players and there's nothing you can do other than levelling up.
  6. TESTING DARKO JORGIC'S TABLE TENNIS BAT!

I've been thinking and experimenting with this too - I think it's actually quite an interesting concept that works very well!
  7. WTT Champions Xinxiang 2023

Ma Long also strangely struggled against Anton's serve especially the old hook/tomahawk serve. Tbh Anton already has one of the best short games in Europe (imo Truls Moregardh is no.1 there) but still it wasn't enough against Ma Long.
  8. Boosted Chinese rubber better than Tensor for backhand?

There's a lot of nasty spin variation stuff you can really only do with H3 type rubbers. And also the game is not all about looping. If you watch how Ma Long pushes short super consistently with the BH even against sidetopspin serves, or how he kills all the spin on an opening loop to block...
  9. Armature FH stroke difference between Tacky and Non tacky rubbers

My FH stroke is mostly the same regardless of whether I use tacky or non tacky rubbers - and sometimes I do twiddle around to use my BH rubber (D05). The only thing I adjust is that I have to give more force to hit the ball harder with tacky rubbers compared to nontacky rubbers. This feels more...
  10. The dead balls.

There's a stroke which I've seen people with tacky rubbers used, which completely kills the spin on the incoming loop safely. But I kinda never figured out how to do it unfortunately...
  11. nastiest way of dealing with opening loops

Hahaha I tried that a couple of times too, I think the counterloop shit is cool af but imo I too make way too many mistakes especially if they place it well with huge amounts of spin, even if it's slow. I can only get my landing percentages up if the loop is of weaker spin quality. I guess...
  12. nastiest way of dealing with opening loops

Yeah I was hoping to generate something similar with inverted that is so nasty that the looper just gives up and gives me a high ball instead 😁
  13. Boosted Chinese rubber better than Tensor for backhand?

Yeah, but there's a lot of situations where you can't go full blast and need some help (especially on BH) - for eg when you're being pressured... Also hitting hard all the time takes its toll on the body imo, why make life hard unnecessarily?
  14. Boosted Chinese rubber better than Tensor for backhand?

D05 is both fast and spinny - no compromise needed (except for short game lol, but I don't really play much short pushes with BH these days anyway)
  15. nastiest way of dealing with opening loops

It seems like there's a lot of variety in terms of dealing with opening loops from the opponent - from chopblocks to punch blocks to fade/hook blocks to reduced energy short blocks - the sky is the imagination! What is your favourite/most devastating stroke you use or have seen used? I'm here to...
  16. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Anyone has good ideas on how to relieve soreness in the legs after playing intensive table tennis?
  17. Seven Laws of Spin (General things about sidespin and backspin that experienced people know)

It's actually way more complex than that. The opponent can go with the sidespin or against the sidespin, and go up or down with the stroke to create sidetopspin or sideunderspin. These variations creates very different spin effects on the ball, and is made worse if they have disguised fake...
  18. Why isn't table tennis equipment produced in the USA?

Precisely, that's why there are scarcely any pro TT players around anywhere. It's really only a hobby for most.
  19. Why isn't table tennis equipment produced in the USA?

There's also a significant first mover's advantage. Any new entrant to the market would be facing a significant technological disadvantage compared to the incumbents (DHS, Butterfly, Tensor), unless they come up with something groundbreaking that disrupts the market.
  20. Why isn't table tennis equipment produced in the USA?

There's too many industries in the US which are more profitable than table tennis, for e.g. tech, finance, weapons manufacturing, oil, etc... Why bother with a saturated low margin market?
