They use the same net and often the same balls. The major difference is the equipment for hitting the ball - usually all wood with sandpaper (just as hardbat has no sponge ans requires all wood as well). Many players play both for various reasons as long as there is money involved.

So is Andrew Baggaley, his opponent in that video. Why is it a big deal to play table tennis, sand paper and hardbat and are you making a joke by considering them all different sports?

If he hasn't switched to Hurricane or custom Dignics 09c at least, it won't make a difference. And without Felix and Hugo around, and with all the c.lose wins vs teammates , a lucky win over LJH and an out of form LYJ, he still has a lot to prove. LGY was given instructions to lose to Harimoto...

The rest of the world will get better at playing defenders too lol.

Yeah though one has to admit that it was a pretty watered down Star Contender. Hopefully Olympic prep will remain strong fir all teams and we will see everyone's best in Paris.

It's a similar comment to when someone who has a blue Lexus drives past someone else with a blue Lexus of the same make and model and tells them they have a crappy car and need to change it. Better than complimenting them in some way I guess...

Careful planning down the drain likely (especially if Harimoto plays singles). Train wreck... well I doubt that - her play is still the biggest influence on that.

Congrats to Harimoto and Hayata. Thar said, there are many dangerous XD teams at the Olympics, so it isn't all about avoiding China in the semis. Shin and Lin and of course Lin and Chen or Wong and Doo can still show up at the worst places. Then the French, Swedes, North Koreans and the...

Shin is supposed to be good at playing choppers too.

If Jinxin was 10 years younger with the same brain, he would win this. Very sneaky player.

It is funny when you play into your opponents trap over and over again because the trap is too juicy lol. 1-1.

Their styles are similar, Kanak plays it at a higher level with better footwork and forehand and backhand.

Yeah. It is pretty interesting that she has accepted who she is. Pretty awesome player, great at the fast game, but once someone exceeds her spin threshold, that's all she wrote

Yeah, he is much more tactical and has a very specialist style. A good model for players who are not into hyperphysical table tennis. I do know someone who beat him and said that his game against heavy backspin was very suspect. But you aren't going to see much of that at that level unless...

Since he isn't going to the Olympics (largely a result of the Kanak suspension IMHO as the US should have qualified a team over Canada even with the fantastic rise of Edward Ly), I think he may have found it not worth his time at least this year, possibly permanently. But I don't know for sure.

Nowadays ir is wise ro take whatever the handle of a blade a pro is using with a grain of salt. Sponsorship contracts are related to such and you never know what the real plies are. You only know the facts if you have the facts.

Kanak completes the Lazarus project. I recommend he retire his Viscaria SALC but what do I know....

Tsao up 3-0 on Jha.

Kanak down 0-2, 1-4 to Darryl Zhao. Upset alert!

To be fair, if they felt Shin was great vs defense, they felt she was great vs defense. But Choi Hyojoo being clueless against short pips blocking... well it is what it is, SXN was a beast in her day.
