  1. Your best double's serve tactics?

two time national doubles vice-champion speaking here ... 🤪 serve is quite important, but not in the department of winning the point, but losing 😉 ... many times I see people creating all sorts of complicated serves, with this rotation and that rotation ... and get burned, because then your...
  2. Does training with a certain ball matter?

also, not so on topic, but came to an interesting observation this week ... on Monday I first played with Xiom Omega 8 China and Xiom Vega X. we played with relatively new Hanno ball (very nice balls by Hanno, to be honest). we played for cca. 2 hours, after I finished playing the rubbers were...
  3. New Xiom Blades Series: Hugo Calderano and Lee Seungsoo (TMX / ALX)

I would say, due to one extra limba layer, HH2 is not as spin friendly as opposed to TMXi where second layer is ayous and is a tad bit softer and probably gives the "so-called" ball hugging ability. dwell, if you want.
  4. Xiom Omega 8?

I think it plays a bit softer and has this feeling that Omega 8 series brought ... I would say it has much more crisp feeling or better said, Omega 7 was a bit more muted. not a big margin, though ... the thing that baffles me is - what is the difference between Omega and J&H series? just weight?
  5. Xiom Omega 8?

yesterday I finally played with Xiom Omega VIII China - is it just me or it plays very very similar to Dignics9c? I didn't play much with Dignics9c but I got same vibes ... maybe a bit lower trajectory, but really similar. and actually loved it. have to play more, of course, it was only 2 hour...
  6. Does training with a certain ball matter?

yes. but tables also affect play. we used to practice with practice balls and switch to tournament a couple of days prior to the tournament, if it was nationals, even sooner ... i.e.; Tibhar competition ball and DHS competition ball have completely different bounce. furthermore - I didn't...
  7. Xiom Omega 8?

today I finally got Omega 8 China and finally glued it onto the blade (Xiom TMXi regular). I did cut it with cca. 1mm edge and it weighs 51g cut to blade (uncut it was 70g). what surprised me is that is not that tacky, JH C55 is way tackier, also Omega 7 China Guang. I will see on Monday how it...
  8. How hard is Rakza Z Extra Hard?

I don't mind softer feeling. C55 is 55 but plays way softer, but has the 55 character, if you understand me ... is Fastarc G1 tacky? or more like Omega 8 Pro?
  9. How hard is Rakza Z Extra Hard?

and, interestingly, I have only seen that with Yasaka, haven't noticed this elsewhere.
  10. How hard is Rakza Z Extra Hard?

I mean on forehand I have Xiom J&H 55 (will test Omega VIII China next week, as it is a tad bit lighter), but am thinking about putting Rakza Z on backhand side ... during last week tests I realised, I don't like soft bouncy rubbers on backhand, but something medium and not too bouncy, medium...
  11. Rakza Z vs Glayzer 09c

so maybe this could work well on the backhand?
  12. Alternative to rakza Z FH

well, all these rubbers, Xiom C55 & O7CG, Donic Bluegrip C2, Donic BlueStar A1, Dignics9c, have one similar point - they come alive when you engage the sponge. I played the most with C2 (albeit on my old all-wood blade and shortly on the current TMXi) and C55 (with current blade, TMXi). C55...
  13. How hard is Rakza Z Extra Hard?

can you tell me more? because I am tempted to try Rakza Z ... and would like to see, what went wrong ...
  14. Xiom Omega 8?

I advice to cut bigger, if you mean to take the rubber of and reglue. I also leave cca. 1mm of margin and it shrank quite a bit, now it fits the blade perfectly, so 1 mm warmly advised.
  15. Xiom blades, any affordable ones?

depends on the structure. you have 3+2 blades, that are the fastest (Xiom Axelo, e.g.), and then you have 9-ply blades which are slower. ;)
  16. Xiom blades, any affordable ones?

I trust "chatgpt" just as much as I trust a thief I have just caught in the act, saying "I can explain". btw - I heard from quite a reliable source, regarding Xiom's rubbers, made in Germany. yes, they are made in Germany, but to Xiom's specs they R&D in Korea ... and, I think many firms today...
  17. Xiom blades, any affordable ones?

maybe for a half an hour ... it is a good one, but honestly - I need a bit of artificial layers in my blade ... that was actually my last all-wood blade I have played with ...
  18. Nittaku's Hurricane(s) vs. DHS' Hurricanes

I am reading a bit still - apparently, Pro 3 Turbo Orange is not so heavy, heavy as any modern hybrids. Pro3 Turbo Blue is really heavy, I agree ... and, apparently, Pro 3 Turbo is the one to look at, if you want a factory boosted Hurricane ... :p
  19. Donic Bluegrip

well ... I always thought I am more of a soft rubber player and then my dad surprised me with a test blade and it had Bluegrip C2 and S1 which where totally unknown to me at the time and I played for a couple of days when I realised that C2 is actually ESN55 ... and I played with it really well...
  20. Nittaku's Hurricane(s) vs. DHS' Hurricanes

realised that after all the reading I have done so far ... everyone is quick to point out the heaviness.
