  1. Any European rubbers that can replace Hurricane?

not European per say, but yes, designed in Korea, made in Germany - Xiom Vega China. plays very similarly to boosted H3N ... only negative - the durability is so so ... these don't play similar, but are very good replacemnts - Donic's BlueGrip C1/C2, Xiom's JH C52.5/C55/C57.5, and the...
  2. Any blades still in production similar to Xiom Hugo HAL or Butterfly Moonbeam?

ok, my colleague asked me to do a bit of a research about a blade for him ... he would like to try an inner blade and I started comparing a bit all the innerblades. I have one from OSP, and if I compare TMXi with it, TMXi looks almost like outerforce, as the "carbon" layer sits much higher in...
  3. Any blades still in production similar to Xiom Hugo HAL or Butterfly Moonbeam?

couldn't agree more. all the people praising Tenergy and I cannot play with it. all reviews say how Xiom Vega Hybrid series are slow, but to me it is amazing, can produce heaps of pace with them ... so yeah, couldn't agree more ...
  4. Any blades still in production similar to Xiom Hugo HAL or Butterfly Moonbeam?

exactly. I have played with Moonbeam, and then after that for 20 years I didn't play. a couple of years ago when I started playing again, I was on a mission to find the Moonbeam replacement. tested quite a few blades, started with Viscaria, as it was close to the Moonbeam at the time, but it...
  5. Any blades still in production similar to Xiom Hugo HAL or Butterfly Moonbeam?

I mean, it is more than 20 years ago when I played with Moonbeam ... it was slower than Viscaria was at the time, I remember when I was testing it, either to go with Moonbeam or Viscaria - and I would go for Moonbeam in the end as it had such a great feel and I felt Viscaria was harder to...
  6. Any blades still in production similar to Xiom Hugo HAL or Butterfly Moonbeam?

there was a shot during finale, which, as discussed in one other forum thread, is not sharp enough to say "it is exactly this blade with this rubber" but it definitely shows outer carbon arrangement. ZL Pro's "carbon" layer is barely seen on product pics, let alone during highly compressed...
  7. New Xiom Blades Series: Hugo Calderano and Lee Seungsoo (TMX / ALX)

this was posted on official Xiom Global instagram account … apparently he was using J&H 57.5 and 52.5 …
  8. New Xiom Blades Series: Hugo Calderano and Lee Seungsoo (TMX / ALX)

I don't want to be disrespectful, but ... my TMXi is 158x152 ... my other blade is 157x150 ... also one other is 160x152 ... and when I put them side by side I can hardly see the difference in size ... it's impossible to see 2mm size difference on youtube stream. maybe on good 4k live TV, but...
  9. New Xiom Blades Series: Hugo Calderano and Lee Seungsoo (TMX / ALX)

there was a closeup yesterday, during one of the serve preparations. it looked like HAL, but to say more than that, you cannot, because ... it's impossible, the movement, the framing, following action, and knowing how camera works, picture is just not sharp enough to see the details to say...
  10. New Xiom Blades Series: Hugo Calderano and Lee Seungsoo (TMX / ALX)

did anyone play HAL and TMXi? is HAL faster or slower? i mean, don't know why I am even thinking about this as I am super satisfied with TMXi, but on the other hand ... I am still looking for a blade that resembles BTY Moonbeam the most ... HAL looks pretty close ...
  11. New Xiom Blades Series: Hugo Calderano and Lee Seungsoo (TMX / ALX)

any idea what the top wood veneer on Hugo ALX Pro is? looks like limba, but it's hard to tell ...
  12. New Xiom Blades Series: Hugo Calderano and Lee Seungsoo (TMX / ALX)

I wanted to get HAL. but there isn't one to be bought. not even used one (in region or at least in Europe). so I went for AJH TMXi ... and maybe, that is even better, because it suits me really really well. I am just thinking about pulling the trigger for Xiom Hugo ALX Pro, but it is a...
  13. European Veterans Championship Novi Sad 2025

damn, I see registration is closed already …
  14. ITTF Men's and Women's World Cup Macao 2025, 4/14-20

I wonder if Jorgic can surprise LJK tomorrow ... he played and awesome match against AJH, hope he can hold the form for LJK, too. on the other hand - is it just me or Duda, beating Ovtcharov, is quite surprising?
  15. Best 47-47.5 degree backhand rubber?

after my mishap with Xiom C55 (I hit the chair and tore the topsheet) I put Donic BlueGrip S1 on my backhand and it is truly amazing. I had a feeling my backhand went up a few gears.
  16. Spinniest ESN rubber?

Xiom Jekyll & Hyde C55 would like to have a word with Donic C2 … 🤪 I played with both (but not on same blade, so maybe blade could affect the spin, but both blades are spin friendly) and C55 is spinnier … but both are great rubbers, you won’t go wrong with either one of them.
  17. Racket suggestion

if you misread the serve only anti or long pips can save you and even that is not certain. hurricane or springy rubber, it will just fly off. ;) more catapult will help you, when you are out of position or when the opponent squeezes one into your elbow. or attacks with a nasty backspin push ...
  18. [UPDATED] For Sale - Xiom Blade - Stradivarius FL

yeah ... I get your point ... unfortunately it would make things much more expensive, so ... thanks anyway.
  19. Racket suggestion

why is everyone so obsessed with Hurricane? is it a good rubber? yes! is it good for everyone? hell no. it has great control, it does. you can produce heaps of spin with it, yes. is it forgiving? yes ... but only when you are on the ball! and what happens when you are not on the ball? when you...
