  2. Best short push tutorial bar none

It depends on your style. Some players start with a completely flat bat then close the bat to a vertical position. This gives them the option of flicking or keeping the ball short. Master of this is Paul Drinkhall. If you ever get the chance to see him play live, get as close to the action as...
  3. Best short push tutorial bar none

Nope. It's very similar to Timo style return. What he's basically demonstrating is to be very active in your returns as compared to simply neutalising the spin when putting back the ball.
  4. Best short push tutorial bar none

The Fang Bo tutorials are really interesting. But the thing that he inadvertently displays is the difference in technique/stroke-smoothness, between extremely good players like his sidekicks and a top 10 player like himself.

  10. Why were the rubbers black and red in the first place?

Many times a poster says that, with today's equipment, the ball travels just as fast as in 38mm days. I then refer them to this video of a young man with an all-wood all+ blade, with speed glued rubbers, playing against one of the best retriever around at the time.
  11. BB's thread about higher frequency blades being faster.

"There are other factors more important... and it is good to discuss those technical technique things... but 99 percent of the forum would rather start another H3 boosting thread, drool over a top CNT player, or make a useless list of dream rubbers..." 13. Breaking rubber on the table is worst feeling

This, I think, supports your discussion about the modern stroke. And although not mentioned specifically, one can see the salute action.
  17. Armature FH stroke difference between Tacky and Non tacky rubbers

"Hit the ball somewhere in front of your chest where the two arms meet. Usually, this will involve hip rotation and a lunge that will shift this point to the side of your body" In the late nineties/early noughties, several coaches were teaching the technique wherby the left hand was used to...
  18. Dimmed lights on Durban sporting arena.

Your two examples exemplify the problems that ITTF have. The two examples are permanment light solutions for arenas having a fixed purpose. So plenty of time for the lighting people to design and adapt the lighting arrangements and design. For the Olympics, again huge money available and plenty...
