Kenta through to last 8 after beating Karlsson 4:1.

  3. unknown_poster Has Been Banned

I have seen S-Jan in action for over 15 years from the days of Rec.sport.TT on usenet. He has issues. His rantings and personal attacks on other posters have usually lead to him being banned from The TT forums that he joined.
  4. Amazing 92 shot Table Tennis Rally!

Maybe the big plastic ball has some bearing on it. I got the impression that Mattenet made a couple of attempts to get up to the table for a counter, but Gerell's hitting was too good. BTW, was that a chop-smash by Gerell to finish the point?
  5. Whats the "cheapest" but decent bh rubber?

OK so 1 Rough topsheet, so not very reactive to incoming spin from serves 2 Lightweight, so allows for a heavy FH rubber or a light bat overall 3 High catapult/high bounce, good for BH flips from incoming serve (?), maybe good driving rubber from distance. 4 Thinner sponge (2mm), better control...
  6. Whats the "cheapest" but decent bh rubber?

what is the characteristic that makes it more suitable for the backhand?
  7. Lightweight rubber

What overall weight is the OP aiming for? My TBS with T05 and T25FX is 182g. With 2x T05 I would expect that to increase by no more than a couple of grams. Mark you, that missing patch is probably good for 2 grams or so.
  8. Looper Vs Pushblocker as good as it gets

One thing though, I have never seen an LP blocker type player that had full control of his LP side. At times, they always seem to make strokes that went wildly off target when they appeared to be in position for a simple retuen.
  9. What are the plies of my blade made of?

It's very diffuicult to replicate any blade especially an old one which has been through numerous gluings, been overheated, frozen etc. But you can build or buy a blade with similar characteristics even with different type woods. So don't be too disappointed if the new one is not exactly the same.
  10. Looper Vs Pushblocker as good as it gets

Karaksevic is putting everything into it. It's just that he using slow top spin to neutralise the PB's game. One has to be very relaxed to play like that, it's not an easy game to play.
  11. Old blue logo Stiga Kjell "The Hammer" Johansson

Sorry, I should have made clear that mine still has on original rubbers. So it is more for me to stare at and for the family to shout at me about all the TT junk in the living room display cabinet.
  12. Looper Vs Pushblocker as good as it gets

In this case, probably true. They are called pushblockers as their game is mostly about blocking with their LP and attacking very little with their FH. But this guy punishes anything loose by hitting with his FH. Notice also that his teamate is Karaksevic so his standard must be very high.
  13. Old blue logo Stiga Kjell "The Hammer" Johansson

I have one of those blades. I look forward to reading your report.
  14. Looper Vs Pushblocker as good as it gets

Mike from another forum found this. Proof that stand at the table LP blockers can be entertaining to watch.
  15. Which blade weight do you prefer?

My shoulder is acting up again this season so no more heavy blades. I need my complete setup to be under 190g. Using Tenergy, that equates to a blade weight of about 85g. My present setup, TBS + T05/T25FX weighs 182g. Teesport did find me a light TBS at about 82g.
  16. What blade & rubbers does Yuya Oshima use?

It's the most important question. How can we discuss technique etc without knowing what equipment he uses.
  17. Should i choose STIGA Clipper?

Unless you are a pro or semi-pro or a very finicky player, a sheet of Tenergy should last a whole season. Experimenting with other rubbers can prove very frustrating and more expensive as you try to adjust to another brand of rubber. A well kept Tenergy is cheaper in the long run. I know many...
  18. What do you think of the LCD table?

Ok... I do like the idea of experimenting with the presentation of TT for TV audiences. But as someone else alluded to, get the camera technique correct and more advanced, then look at the other stuff.
  19. What do you think of the LCD table?

Is all that flashing stuff seen by the players? Or is like football where the sideboards have all sorts of advts being flashed up but it's only seen by the TV audience.
  20. Adidas to discontinue table tennis products

Oooo! cheap Adidas rubbers will be legal up to 2017 Good. Now I have all the excuse I need to try that P7 that all you guys have been so enthusiastic about. What's the chance of another brand picking up the Adidas P-range of rubbers?
