  1. Adidas to discontinue table tennis products

When will Adidas rubbers be remeved from the LARC? When does ITTF approval for Adidas rubbers run out? edit: I just checked the ITTF website. The present LARC is valid until 30 Sep2015. Can I assume that if Adidas have not paid their dues, then the rubbers are not legal beyond 30Sep15?
  2. New table tennis store!

Received my order today I placed an order for Tenergy and received today via 1st class mail. Not bad.
  3. Grand Prix Tournaments around UK

As I said, interesting matchup :-)
  4. Adidas to discontinue table tennis products

That's sad. I got the impression that they were just about building up a large following. From posts on forums their P7 rubber seem well accepted.
  5. How to counter long pips push blocker?

All good stuff, two things I might add> No-spin serve. I think of it that there's no such thing. There's always a little top or back depending on how the server strikes the ball, and it does make a difference when playing the the LP PB. I usually serve 'no-spin' with a bias to backspin so that I...
  6. Tenergy 25 compared to Tenergy 05?

My EJ instinct has been aroused by this thread. I think that I might again try T25FX on my BH.
  7. Grand Prix Tournaments around UK

Taking part in the Grand Prix circuit is a great learning experience. I know as I've been to many over the years. But guess what, I've never actually played a GP. I think I'll rectify that this season by entering my home GP, Bristol.
  8. Grand Prix Tournaments around UK

I don't know about you, but seeing jumped up academy kids against good vets who have to use their wits and experience makes for some very interesting matchups.
  9. Go for the Flat hit or Spinny forehand?

Just a thought, did your problems roughly coincide with the change to poly ball?
  10. Go for the Flat hit or Spinny forehand?

It depends. The standard guidance is to spin and loop. But many of us are more drivers/smashers and not very good at looping. You really have to look at your own overall game to see the best path to follow in a particular situation. Now having said that, the smash drive is usually an attempt at...
  11. Grand Prix Tournaments around UK

What's wrong with getting thrashed -1 and -3? It's only a learning process. Band 5 & 6 is the first tier for almost every player. You may come across a strong premier div player on his first GP outing or a 10 yo beginner. But it's all good fun and you get to watch some good matches. Also you...
  12. Top 10 - 2015 World Championships Backhands

I'll just say, terrific! I thought that GECA had used up all the adjectives, but you guys still found more :-)
  13. Tenergy 25 compared to Tenergy 05?

Oops. I just remembered that my experience was with T25FX. Unusually, it plays significantly different from the harder T25.
  14. Tenergy 25 compared to Tenergy 05?

For me whilst using T25, I was brilliant (in my mind) at flipping backspin serves - basically anything short over the table. Today, I have more trouble attacking surprise short low floaters with my T05 shod FH. When I had the T25, I had far less problems. Active blocking was much easier. Like...
  15. Tenergy 25 compared to Tenergy 05?

Try T64 on the BH. It's good at the table and brilliant away from the table.
  16. Let's do more for girls and women in table tennis

The first big problem for western culture, is that females are not into sport like males. Neither for taking part nor spectating. Sure there is a big bunch of exceptions. But generally they don't appreciate sport like males do. How to change that? I don't know. They love getogethers for Yoga or...
  17. Dimitrij Ovtcharov Forehand Topspin Training 2015

The blocker hardly had to move because DO's shots were so accurate.
  18. European Youth Championships 2015

Misbehaviour penalty Yes. You are sharp. At 8:14 originally I was looking at the kid and thinking that he could be on slippery ground. He was unlucky in that the bat landed on the corner and the spring in the sponge caused it to kick, making the incident look worse than it was. The match point...
  19. European Youth Championships 2015

He did not get a red card. Only the tournament referee can do that. He was 8-10 down (match point). he slammed his bat on the table. He must have then received a yellow/red warning which means a point to his opponent. As he was match point down, then that point would have given the game and...
  20. European Youth Championships 2015

He didn't shake the umpire's hand either at the end. Young Master Rossi needs a good lesson in anger management. I saw the exact thing happen in the English Junior finals (Drinkhall V Knight) a few years ago. But at least Darius had the strength of character to shake the umpire's hand.
