  1. Zhang Jike - How to play the Forehand Topspin!

Shoulder problems ZJK's action is so relaxed that I believe that any shoulder problems are probably due to over training. Or like so many of us, improper warm-up. But seriously, look at what he's doing. He probably does this training for greater than > 15days in the month sometimes. No wonder...
  2. Best place to buy tenergy in the uk?

New Tenergy on the way, maybe?
  3. Best place to buy tenergy in the uk?

Thanks, Andy. They do PayPal which is great. I will do a test purchase of Tenergy and see what happens. Having said that, I notice that Teessport have opened a store in Middlesborough. If I lived up North, I certainly would give them some business in my own small way.
  4. Best place to buy tenergy in the uk?

Never heard of TTdepot before. Who's running it?
  5. What Stiga blade?

I have a couple of Europa blades but never used them. The Europas were not recreational blades. A Stiga expert explained to me that they were cheaper mainly because Stiga did not have to pay anyone to use the name such as Alser, Bengsston etc. The quality, whatever that means, was not up to...
  6. What Stiga blade?

In those days, very few players bought blades separate from rubbers. Plus the bats may not have been to 'pro' standards but the Stiga veneers were still very good. So they are probably as good as any mass-produced wood blade of today.
  7. Share your (Digital) Weight Scale's Photo!

If his blade does weigh 90-95g and total bat weight is 190g, does that back up TB's past statement that he does not boost? I tried a friend's ALC +T80/T80 last night. The setup felt much crisper and sharper than my TBS + T05/R9. My TBS is light at around 82g but was the difference more because...
  8. Share your (Digital) Weight Scale's Photo!

Is Timo's scale saying 190g or 198g? Accuracy of these cheap scales are way good enough for TT bat or rubber measurements. I used a weight for reference and the scale was within spec at the time. So we can assume they are accurate to within +/- 0.5g at least. edit: Just been to the FB link and...
  9. I have a serve question.

It's hardly ever a problem in TT especially where the players understand the rules.
  10. Best place to buy tenergy in the uk?

Teessport I think are the official Butterfly dealers so you are guaranteed to get a genuine product. But Bribar, etc all sell at at very similar prices. Check the delivery costs for differences in overall cost. If you are at any of the Grand Prix sponsored by Butterfly/Teessport or Bribar, you...
  11. Probably the best 40+ ball ? Nittaku Premium (MIJ)

I've long ago realised that cheap practice balls are only good for recreational TT and multiball where you are doing a footwork exercise. For other TT training use the best 3 star product.
  12. Zhang Jike - How to play the Forehand Topspin!

It's nice to hear ZJK's name pronounced the Chinese way. It sounded like jang jhe Cook.
  13. Illegal serves, are you guilty of any

Is serving off the side a problem for the receiver? I don't think it is any worse than any other serve. If it was, then we'd see it much more often.
  14. Mizutani super zlc question...

The 94,2 blade will be about 10g heavier than your present setup, assuming that you use the same model of rubbers. Be aware that this can cause technique adjustment issues or even injury to wrist/shoulder.
  15. Illegal serves, are you guilty of any

Some exotic serving from the European Veterans Champs
  16. Which poly ball should you choose?

I must be slipping. I am just seeing this thread!! I did not know that there was a lawsuit which the companies won. Apparently, good can win over bad...sometimes. Very observant posts by the OP. Only one comment; in my experience at my club, the Nittaku premium has proved to be as or more...
  17. Probably the best 40+ ball ? Nittaku Premium (MIJ)

We won't see Nittaku in any competition Plus The ball to use and practice with is the ball you will use in competition. Here, most likely, the tournaments and national leagues will use Butterfly and Joola as they are the main sponsors. Nittaku and XSF will probably be used in some team...
  18. What is your profession outside of TT

Combine the 2.TT photographer is good. But Digital makes things a bit too easy. Try video work. It would be nice to see someone do some good TT documentaries/stories or record matches with a bit of flair. Or even set up some good live streaming. I'd love to see some of our posters in their...
  19. high and low throw rubbers

And the answer to the OP question is? Anyway, let me try based on what has been said above. Low or high throw rubber quest depends on what TT strategy/tactics that you want to emphasise in your own overall game. Low throw rubbers (T25FX, SP/MP stuff) excel at over the table drives, flicks and...
  20. Why do all penholders at the world level use black for their forehand?

I tend to use red on the FH as we always had red rubbers back in the sixties when I started.
