  1. Dimmed lights on Durban sporting arena.

The problem with the lighting wasn't dimming the background areas for arena effect... it is that there are too few lights too bright without diffusion and reflection from roof and walls... very poor light distribution, big time glare zones, and shadows of player and table everywhere. Sure, they...

Hmm... Exhaustion and footwork issues. You ought to try out my "William looks too exhausted (or too damn big, old-azz and heavy at 110 Kg) to move to FH stumble cross step" On a ball hit say 1.5 meters to my FH when I am a little off the table, I take a tiny small step with right foot towards...

FIVE HOURS SLEEP ???!!! That is almost a luxury for me to average 5 hrs sleep in a week. Maybe I get a day or 2 with 6-7. I think even when my wife was gone a month in Korea I was getting under 5.
  4. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I joked to coach that I could tell coach to let you know or bust you out on TTD, so I took the middle ground. No one knows what it is, but when you can fix this consistently in your points (and win moar points) then you will prolly teach TTD and anyone in Sac area who is not a fool and willing...
  5. OX Long Pips luvers... best LP Korean coach showing chop down block vs medium attack

BB, You are right to want to see what you want - match action. I have never seen match footage of Coach Yoo playing vs a 2000-2200 inverted player... but it would be pretty damn fun to watch. Coach Yoo has a FH and can pressure with BH and all close to table no need to run around everywhere...
  6. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Looks like there were sum seriously under-rated talented players in your divisions NL.
  7. OX Long Pips luvers... best LP Korean coach showing chop down block vs medium attack

@brokenball I certify that Coach Yoo is legit. He knows how to play (His play standard is Div 1 city) (which is 2000-2300 range) at mid 50s using OX LPs on BH. He has vids for every possible shot with an LP, like 50 different shots - a vid or ten for each one. He communicates well and gets...
  8. Are Lebrun brothers just developing a permanent reputation for bad sportsmanship?

I saw at the end of probably this match, one of the Chinese pair made a good underspin serve that one of the Lebrun Bros pushed into the net... that Lebrun pointed at the CNT player and made applause with hand and racket... and that point setup match point. A total a-hole will not compliment...
  9. WHO is gunna be at this weekend's 888 Teams Championships ??!!

Got news our number one player has to stay home with family medical situation, hope it gets better for him. For us, that drops us to three players, but since we play a max of 6 individual or doubles on two days and a max of 4 on last day, we should be fit enough to finish if nothing else happens.

@Jslick89 I mentioned two things about your stance to coach to relay to you, should add points to your total.
  11. OX Long Pips luvers... best LP Korean coach showing chop down block vs medium attack

Coach Yoo is Korea's best amateur LP coach. he has a gazillion vids on youtube and 10x more in his private club vault. Here, he is showing how to block downward vs a medium attack... also how to make a small LP medium attack. Enjoy.
  12. Does Rakza 7 generate good spin?

It is an inside joke Sergey always makes about K1 not being able to generate any spin... many players, pretty much all the local players besides me struggle to get 1/2 the spin Sergey or I make with these older esn rubbers... they complain it cannot make spin easy and you got work so hard for...
  13. Does Rakza 7 generate good spin?

Hi JJ, You got it right, it is a technical thing to make spin, regardless of rubber, but the kind of impact both Sergey and I have can do very well for "old" ESN rubbers. It is a matter of being loose throughout the entire chain and explosion sequences... relaxing arm and wrist... and having...
  14. WHO is gunna be at this weekend's 888 Teams Championships ??!!

Hi everyone. I see Liam Pitchford is on NYC's Ping Pod's team... Which TTD members are gunna be on a team for this one? https://888ttc.com/2023-sv-teams-tournament Here is the team list... EIGHT Divisions... with a qualification team vs team match to determine if a team stays in division...
  15. Tibhar Evolution FX-D

matti, The natural evolution is to stay with the same topsheet and move up in firmness, so EL-D would be an obvious choice. Another one would be Tibhar Aurus, it is simply easy to do most of your frequent shots with it... and the top end is there on big impacts... and this rubber been on the...
  16. Does Rakza 7 generate good spin?

latej, if you REALLY want some inside scoop, TTD member ERM is hands down the most expert on any equipment. I can get him to SOMETIMES comment on the forum, but he is like Sergey in that 98% of conversations about fanboy equipment turn him off. That cat used to be on the youth team for TT and...
  17. Does Rakza 7 generate good spin?

Plumbs or no plumbs, Sergey would be seriously good for everyone if he would talk on TTD. He knows so much about TT and has what I would assess as a very reasonable approach to learning, improving, preparing, and playing matches. He is a downright good person and it is shameful he has promised...
  18. Does Rakza 7 generate good spin?

Anyone who has been reading the forum a while KNOWS I have been blowing big time smoke on this one. Sergey uses and loves K1 for the last 1.5 years and can spin the cover off the ball on an over the hill sheet of K1, even after 200 hrs of use. He also likes MX-P well after the tuning effect is...
  19. Does Rakza 7 generate good spin?

Sergey Tsos confirmed it last night... rubbers like K1 or Rakza et Al... which are rubbish like anti are for losers... so hard to make any measurable spin, might as well use frictionless LPs. H3 is the only way to go, and Sergey is reluctant to share his source of National H3 rubber or the...
