Yeah. Sorry if it wasn’t clear. I just meant that a person had and understood the tools to vary the spin.
I will be honest, I am way better at backspin/ side-backspin/ dead ball and varying the amounts of spin than the top and side top variations because my setup strategy is to use the backspin serves to either get a push or a slower attack with more spin.
Whereas, with the topspin serves there is a risk of having to handle a thunderbolt of a return. Also, a good player can push the topspin variations short a little more easily. Whereas, heavy backspin makes it harder to push short.
And I am sure there are a lot of what I am defining as intermediate level players who don’t do all spin variations on serves but are still at that level. And I am confident that what I am defining as intermediate level is a fairly high level.
Like, I would say Dan is just a hair higher level than the top of what I am calling intermediate. [emoji2]
