  2. (Table Tennis for All Shakehand Version) EP10.3: Forehand Slow Loop Tutorial

After much ado, the WTTC and Ishikawa bashing, I got around to subbing this tutorial upon a member request. This tutorial is really long and it took a lot of time and effort. If you find it helpful, I'd appreciate it if you will consider chipping in for a new piece of H3. Thank you.

  5. I feel depressed watching this. Loop against chop

I simply feel old watching these guys, I could do that stroke once in a rally but never twice in a row. Simply getting into position would be too much for me. Loop, then push the return, then think about another loop is my technique.
  6. Comment on this Kim Jung Hoon BH Loop Vid

I am not going to provide much of a gisting of this vid right away, I would like TTD members to look at the vid NOT understanding much of what KJH is saying, but look at what he is doing and discuss some keys to success. This vid covers how to make an opening spin loop vs an incoming underspin...

Hi I've been using Stag Power drive Power plus(184g, which I dont mind as I get sense of direction to the ball) and now upgraded to Nittaku Acoustic Carbon + DHS hurricane 3(FH)+ MX-P(BH) My usage: Somehow I play well(safely say top 10 in the club) with the cheap racket and has good feedback...
  10. Question on Biomechanics of the FH Loop

I have a question concerning the use of body rotation used in the FH Loop. How can i make proper use of turning the body while looping a backspin ball? Looping a backspin ball requires a more vertical stroke. Now this makes it hard to turn your body into it without leaning back. Because if you...

  12. Working on my FH Side Spin Loop Video

Hi guys, This video is from my last week practice. Since, they call me 'Jugaadu', I transitioned from floor to Wall hitting to innovate :D. Unlike, my BH sidespin loop, this remains really high. I would like to know how to keep them short without compromising the sidespin and topspin in the...
  13. Practising Backhand Side Spin Loop (Video). Advice need on improvement

Hi Guys, I am greatly impressed by the beauty of those backhand topspin loops of Legends like Maze and XX. So, I thought of picking up these trickshots to incorporate into my game play. This is how it looks after some practice session. I just had picturised those beautiful shots in my mind and...
  14. Talk me out of buying Appelgren Allplay please!

I don't know what to write here. I'm just in a mood where I got tired of constant table tennis practice and can't keep simple drills on the table. Have I tried this blade? Yes one of our top players is using it, he has 2 and I tried playing with it but my first loops were disaster, they barely...
  15. Loop contact sound

Hello. I know that a very wood-y slap sound is definitely not what you want when looping, but I've been wondering if less is more when it comes to spin. Looking at professional players play, they very often make a sound I would describe as "medium", the normal kind of hitting sound. Yet they...
  16. "Corkscrew" vs side top loop

Hello. Which is more preferable in the forehand loop, corkscrew or side top? I understand that it's quite difficult and not really practical or effective to produce pure topspin, and that good loopers hit the ball more on the side than on the back. I don't think it's practical to produce a...
  17. Leaning back in modern over table loop

Hello. I've noticed that just about every Chinese top player leans back when they hit backhand loops. I also do this without any formal training and I've found it to be effective in increasing pace and allowing me to make the distance larger in a whim if need be. The lean is not throughout...
  18. best rubber to loop backspin

The famous Yoda of Table Tennis has written another excellent article on looping backspin. https://thoughtsontabletennis.wordpress.com/2016/01/03/the-best-rubber-to-loop-backspin/ TLDR: "Beginners" should use something like T05FX or Vega Japan, "experienced" players will benefit from hard...

Recently I've only just been trying to loop with my backhand and I have a lot of trouble doing it. Whenever I do it, I feel really awkward to go down really low and come back up. It includes proper use of feet, waist and forearm during forehand top stroke. Unfortunately the subtitle is Korean. It is a great if a nice...
