They've got a decent shot in mixed teams too. Interesting change, though it heavily favours CNT.
Mixed Teams not so sure. CNT women are too dominant. But yes your point about it seeming to be well timed to favor the Chinese is precisely the main point. Unfortunately we were driven into a pronunciation of "potato" discussion related to it.

Had the seperate Mens and Womens Team remained Japan Mens would have had a good chance in getting Gold in LA2028 but their record against SWE, FRA and GER to an extent need to be fixed for future Team matches whether it’s for WTTTC or future Olympics where they bring this format back. If they don’t bring FZD or LJK back and China still sticks with the same team for Mens then Japan got a chance at starting their domination run.

FZD should just stick to playing chill tournaments in Germany. The moment he returns to the CNT, this fun international rivalry we're seeing is over. It'll just be too predictable again.

Did Togami ever analyze his own games on how to adapt and vary? He always started very strongly and then got lost after losing a couple of points.
Oh, Togami sure did and Kishikawa as well, both after WTTC 2026.

The sad part is that Mizutani's analysis of Togami in 7/2023 has turned out true and my own analysis of Togami in 6/2022 (07/27/2023 at 5:24pm) (which IIRC was a reply to your post on Togami) after his loss to none other than LSD at WTT FEE Otocec 2022 was backed by Ueda after Togami's loss to Moregard at WTTC 2025, of which Togami's analysis and my analysis were exactly the same, and it was noticeable in this final that he has worked on "those small skills" and tried to put them to good use in the first 2 games and got G2 but then cracked after LSD adapted his tactics.

Catching up: on what basis was Rin Mende selected? There are many Japanese women performing very well on the circuit, including Odo, Hashimoto and Sato recently.
It's complicated with Miki House players, namely Odo/Yokoi (both current) and Sato/Hashimoto/Shibata (all former but still under their influence, with Hashimoto more detached).

Refer to this post for more on the backdrop and timeline of events for the selection trial for WTTC 2026 and Asian Games 2026. As noted there, the current structure of selection system was put in place after WTTC 2015 because Miki House called for reform in way of a letter of protest against the JTTA and yet their players have ironically chosen to opt out of it, presumably as a form of protest after Nagasaki was picked over Odo for the final spot by recommendation, which had a completely "legal basis" as Nagasaki's 3-1 win over WYD at Asian Cup 2026 happened before the stated deadline, which was not the case for Odo's 3-0 win over WMY at WTT CS Chongqing 2026.

The head to head record between Sys and hina now is 20:0 to Sun. When is team Japan going to learn ? - hina is a waste of a team spot. Try someone like Hashimoto, Sato or Odo ffs.
And my stance on Hayata's luck has only been reinforced over the past 2 years and 8 months and counting. Such a waste of my time and brain cells arguing with those members who have a history of going back on their own posts.

P.S.
1/2024 0-11 and still expecting her first win
9/2026 0-20 and still expecting her first win

As usual, since you cited a post of mine, can you in plain English explain what I went back on (usually not a big deal in the presence of changing evidence but I digress)? At least everyone can see how you think when you attack a reasonable observation as "cringeworthy", but it is okay, I like giving people a chance to continue to reveal themselves.

Szocs and Diaz: Mister, you've been deflecting from your claims for a good while now.

There is also your goalpost-moving stance on ESN rubbers being all but identical.

Here is another Chinese saying for you, 見人講人話,見鬼講鬼話.

As Takkyu_wa_inochi stated in that thread, to remind him in 1 year's time and his stance has turned out to be right almost 4 years on and yours was not. Admit it. That's the least you could do. Stop wasting everyone's time here.

Do I need to remind you again about Szocs?

Well, Takkyu_wa_inochi turned out to be right about Diaz peaking in WR back in 2022 and the other was wrong.

It's unfortunate I am a moderator, there really should be some punishment for making things up. You know where to post these things if you really believe them, but this thread is reserved for the tournament.

I have a bet (as in money on the line) and I will pay @Takkyu_wa_inochi money if Diaz does not get into the top 10 by the end of LA 2028. Even if I am wrong, which everyone is allowed to be except someone whose name Google literally translates to "god", how can that be interpreted as going back on Diaz? There is a difference between being wrong, being right, being nuanced etc. I encourage you to learn the differences though I suspect you really go out of your way to be obtuse and pretend not to understand them.

The other issues you bring up are misrepresentations as well that have been addressed elsewhere, including on the thread that was opened to allow you to lodge your complaints. The original conversation about Szocs came up in two contexts, that of Aruna and that of the Olympics, where you said that all the players ahead of Hirano were overrated and she would outperform them, including Shin Yubin, who beat Hirano in the QF in a close match and lived up to her seeding, despite your stating on multiple occasions that she was overrated. If you are not satisfied with the answers to the issues you bring up again that I have given in all the other places where this has been discussed, that is fine.

IF you want, we can do a bet on a topic of your choosing that I find mutually acceptable. I find that people like to talk a lot but are not willing to put money where their mouth is. It is the easiest way to show someone the difference between making predictive claims and just getting lucky without disciplined analysis. If you want to do that bet, feel free to open a thread or I can open one and we can propose topics. In the absence of that, I beg of you, please stick to hard facts, not blatant misrepresentations.

That said, this is the last post on this issue that will be on this thread, but you are free to continue the discussion elsewhere - thank you!
