this is great maybe my dream of watching table tennis matches on a regular basis on U.S. television might come a reality.

The population of china is 1.3 billion and 70 million is but a small fraction. Table tennis is the national sport of China. If a english football team reach the final of the champions league the proportion of viewers watching the game in england would most likely be higher.

All i am pointing out is that 70 million is a rather stylised fact. 70 million is alot of people - would be the whole of the UK watching.
