Mao Takamori and Yuna Ojio took out their Chinese competitors in the U19 GS QF. Sachi Aoki and Rin Mende both advanced to the SF in the other half.

[Edit] U19 Girls Doubles is also all Japan: Sachi Aoki/Mao Takamori vs. Rin Mende/Yuna Ojio. Rin Mende/Yuna Ojio beat the Chinese pair, Yan Yuton/Yao Ruixuan in the bottom half.

Watch out for this Indian girl, Divyanshi Bhomick, U15 GS Champion.

View attachment 36859
I didn't follow Indian juniors before, so I actually not 100% sure how strong there are before I made my assessment of them being a major threat to us in a couple of years time, solely based on the structures, funding and population I witnessed during my recent visit.

I believe you start a kid at 6 today, in 10 years time, at 16, we will be dead in the waters.
I guess after following some of the Indian tt during the asian youth champs, we don't need 10 years....

I still believe Indian TT need to import a lot of coaches/sparing partners and accurate the growth.

PS, Divya was part of our Chennai Lions team (one of two juniors to shadow us), and was training along side Fan Siqi, and many other elite players for over 2 weeks.
I chatted to her quite early on and was surprised with her height (thought she was much older due to her height), she started TT at a later age, and really sped very fast to become Indian U15 no 1 and a top position (can't remember the number) U19 in India.

well, now she is U15 Asian champion

They put on first table players from host country
That I get. But Ruibo Wen and Kuo should be on the other table as a big matchup. But that is my opinion. To be fair, the match they did show was an exciting example of destroying a chopper lol.

She uses pips on backhand, I suspect she will be easier to beat as she ages to be honest.
she does, and in theory yes.
but the CNT womens team probably said the same too

probably won't be senior champion, but will be strong enough to cause some damage like the others before her already has.

if any place on earth to learn pips, it is India and North Korea.

Congratulations to Sachi Aoki, 2025 Asian Youth Champion U19 GS! She took down Rin Mende in the SF 4-3 and Yuna Ojio in the Finals 4-0. She also won U19 GD with Mao Takamori playing against Yuna Ojio/Rin Mende. [Edit] And she was the only Japanese girl to win a match in the U19 GT against China. She won her match against Yao Ruixuan.

I vaguely remember her playing short pips on the FH, but it looked like she is smooth rubber on both sides now. Very strong base and highly stable player... doesn't make many unforced errors. Someone in the chat said they are from the same Ishida table tennis club. She also plays in T-League for NP Mallets (Odo,Yokoi, Sato, Shibata).
