Honestly if you cannot handle LP at all even after practice you simply are not at the level where you can loop.

After that it depends on skill level and the more loops you can do into your own backspin the better you do.

I'm not particularly good but honestly if you can loop and realise the reversal of LP and anti then the gameplan is easy.

If they can Stop you executing your gameplan. Or worse you do it and they still beat you. Then they're probably just better than you tbh.

I've used Curl P1 for about two months now. I desperately miss being able to have the versitile nature of inverted. But also I appreciate the ease of returning heavy topspin. Overall I'm a bit worse than when I used inverted backhand and I'm not great. So they sure are not magic!

No you're right she didn't recently beat every chopper on the wtt tour easily in the last two years and last year she was Beating ma te 3-0

She just happened to loose that match. I suspect if you ask her she knows how to beat LP and doesn't call them cheating.

Don't act like not being able to push or loop a LP push is the same as SYS loosing once to a LP user in her career.

LP are very consistently easy to predict because it limits what the player can manipulate the balls spin with. It just takes practice and also the ability to loop for it not to become impossible to play a LP player.

Inverted loopers are also easy to predict.
In the end it comes to player vs player, regardless of their style.
It's not the style that wins but the player.

Pretty funny - i went today at the club to train serve and serve receive. I was serving my usual hook, pendulum, tomahawk, heavy under/nospin serves to a few players (albeit a bit lower level than me) and my serve win rate is like freaking 80-90% with so many outright direct points. There is no way they can play games with me unless they have some kind of cheat code like LP/anti. But it is kinda sad that even with so much work involved and sheer artistry in the serve, it will all be neutralised if someone was using LP/anti. I can pretty much only stick to heavy under/no spin and then attempt to loop the 3rd ball. I feel like it is super unfair for someone who just by using equipment can neutralise my biggest strength on the table ugh.

Then explain to us in detail where’s the fun in losing 80% of the points because your opponent’s serves are so good that you can’t receive them? There’s no game left?
Well i cant get 80% win rates against better players obviously, but I do get a lot of free points even against ex semipros. The thing is that I worked very hard on perfecting those serves like how a magician works hard to create an illusion. It is an artform in itself which I can really appreciate the skill of. If you watch some good servers like Lin Yun Ju, it really feels like it is an artform itself.

Even receiving serves with inverted is an art in itself. There are so many subtleties in it that is very rewarding to learn and master, because it is so difficult.

Now what I cant appreciate the skill of, is someone who can neutralize this serve/receive art by just using some equipment. It is indeed quite ugly, sorry to say.

Dude. You need to dumb down your serves to stop the flood of quitters resorting to LP and anti ;)

:( i am really only sort of good at serve and receive and getting the 1st loop in. Once it gets to the rally I am a lot weaker because I just dont train enough on the table and didnt start young enough to have good muscle memory. Blame having too many things in life, i am only playing maybe once a week at best for only 1-2 hrs...

i like playing against pips. a good way to test my own looping and mental game!
but i am also the kind of player that plays rather into the pips if i face an opponent with two sides. to get really good with pips to make a lot of trouble takes some serious commitment to material and a lot of training and tactical knowledge. also need to have strong looping game too as an pips player.

anti is way harder for me to play against. you really need to be able to create your own spin and pace, be really good at watching what the opponent is doing and need a though mental game to know that you still will make a lot of 'easy' mistakes but need to make everyball count!
if you just can play with what the opponent is giving you then well...good luck

So you cant play what most players call table tennis the way you want (which is winning no matter what) and feel bad coz of some other players want to win just like you but use another "work around". Okaaay
