I tried Battle 3 Purple in 41.5 hardness a few weeks ago. Don't get it, it's terrible. When I opened the packaging there was a huge reverse dome, it took 2 layers of booster to even make it flat. I put it on a thick 5-ply penhold and played with it for an hour. It was pretty fast but could not create good spin. It felt like it had too little grip to loop backspin balls comfortably, I didn't like it as it gave me no confidence in any of my shots. Finally when I was taking it off the blade the sponge ripped almost immediately. Do not recommend, even the regular B3 felt better.
I think its a good rubber, but I have the 39 degree on a 980XX (flexible 5 ply wood). Writing off a rubber because you couldn't adjust to it after an hour seems hasty to me, I'd probably have the same experience playing an extra hard Chinese style rubber on a stiff blade. What blade did you try it on?

Is very light for 52 degrees hardness, so I expect it to be slower. I am reading bad reviews for another high-thickness rubber, Apollo II. But let's see, I will test TUTTLE 25 this weekend.
It takes a very long time to break in, but is a great rubber

Usually, I manually press the rubber multiple times or use massage gun, before glueing to the blade. Most of the rubbers become a little more alive and responsive. For the TUTTLE 25 I can say that is not bad rubber and something different from a typical chinese stuff that we are flooded. I boost small peace with 1 layer FP and that results in permanent dome. If the rubber is not cleaned, sweat fingerprints leaves permanent marks on the surface.

My friend is currently trying TUTTLE 25 and 27 as we speak, so its ironic you bring this up (it arrived yesterday). Interesting method with the massage gun, and I'd love to hear more about it with theory and whatever! What sort of massage gun is it, do you think it tensions it or something? When I wrote my comment I was initially referring to Apollo 2 for long time to break in, stock is hard to find now. Based off my friend's review it is like a Tacky Zyre. I have 2x of A2, I have seen both good and poor sheet quality, it depends which supplier you buy from. If the rubber is tight in the packaging not moving much it is high quality, otherwise it may be poor. Yinhe has said that they are in the works right now to reproduce something similar in the future. Also, what is FP the booster you use? Falco Platinum?

Yes, FP is falco platinum. The massage gun is the cheapest one with cushioning ball attachment. I use a sheet of 729 super to cover the surface of the new rubber. I put the stack between 2 sheets of cooking paper and pressed with the massage gun most of the surface, from the sponge side. Sometimes I measure 1-2 degrees softening of the sponge, but most of the change is in the reducing of sponge damping, or energy loss during rebound. In the past, I used TT ball pierced by a screwdriver and rolled the ball on the rubber surface, with applied pressure.

TUTTLE 25 is tacky and can lift the ball, but I don't think it is as fast as Zyre or has similar durability. Even, I would be impressed if it was playable after 20 hours. But it is fun, with very good spin and speed for chinese rubber.

The huge reverse dome is already a bad sign, this means that the rubber was heavily factory boosted and it evaporated while in warehouse storage. One other thing I forgot to mention was that I kept the rubber trimmings around after boosting it flat, and it shrunk/reverse domed so hard again it doubled back on itself within a week. This suggests the internal boost will also disappear very quickly.

I had this on a custom thick 5-ply jpen, similar to a Yinhe 985. My old setup was a Yinhe 985 with either Battle 2 Gold or H3 blue sponge, those had excellent spin. With the B3 Purple I felt there was just no way to generate heavy spin with it, regardless of technique. And good spin and grip is the main reason I still like using tacky rubbers instead of tensors on my penhold blades.

But that is just my experience, feel free to share yours, I am interested in other people's thoughts on this rubber.

Interesting that your rubber trimmings curled back on itself, I didn't keep mine and have only reglued my sheet once after the first session- it was curling but nothing I couldn't handle coming from rubbers like Baracuda and AK47 which curled very aggressively towards the sponge after some use. Personally I felt it was a very spinney rubber, but the feeling of my 39* dragging and spinning the ball on active topspin was less than other Chinese hybrid rubbers I have tried like Arthur China and Rxton7, though the arc generation when I hit through the rubber I felt to be stronger and therefore safer than rubbers like Battle 2 Prov and Nat. Of course H3 is strongest in this area but when hitting harder I felt the arc generation and arc protection of Battle 2 to be less desirable. The thing I liked most about the B3P was spin on serve, I was serving backspin and getting my usual opponents to push straight into the net or even miss the ball because the trajectory was dipping and skidding pretty aggressively. I still have yet to try the B3 orange though which I am interested to see how it compares to purple

Would like to add Super Kaiser Ninja300 National black on here. It's pretty factory boosted by factory, feels direct, kind of like a mix of Vega China and H3. Also it stays tacky which is always welcome. Has a neo layer like the h3.

There's also the blue sponge variant but it doesn't feel as bouncy, also both are only available in 39/40 degrees.

Exactly. I had the same problem. Sponge durability is atrocious for such hard sponge. Similarly grip is so so, though speed was good

I might be going mad, but I bought a provincial H3N 37 red for backhand. I just glued it I didn't boost or anything.
It's quite fast and bouncy and stable... what is happening? Spinny too... Amazing for blocking and open ups and receive and banana flick. I'm not gonna say it's faster than Glayzer but with its sharp trajectory maybe it is faster? Feels that way for sure. My opponents didn't fancy it.

I love H3N 37 on backhand too. I don't boost and have no idea why people claim it feels dead. It's sticky and fast! I did switch to a faster blade mainly because I got used to the fast feeling of zyre 03 on forehand, but I still like my H3N so the faster blade kind of makes H3N faster and kind of duplicates the zyre 03 on a slow blade. It also affected my backhand, and the H3N became faster on my backhand too.

Mmph~ No need to boost when you have a thick hinoki/cypress blade 😋

10mm thick blade for sure have a lot of power & speed if you can manage the weight.

Anyone tested Pinyi Cuifeng 3.5gen? Its a 2026 new version.
I tried it just this past week. I don't think I'm qualified to really rate it, and I only had 4 sessions with it unboosted and 2 sessions boosted, but it didn't feel like H3. It's heavier than H3 and the throw was similar but a bit higher, but the tackiness is much less. Tackier than 09c though!
I took it off and boosted it with Falco Tempo Long, and it felt closer to Glayzer09c than H3, albeit the throw is closer to H3. I'd have to give it more time to really see if it changes for the better if it has a break-in period or whatever.

Im using the 39-40 almost for a month without booster, notice the weight, high trow and less tackiness compare to H3N. I found in game almost the same difficuties as H3N to engage the sponge, you really need to put effort, but not as the same with H3N, when you engage its a very good shot with more speed but less spin.
The harder thing is counter attack, you need a good timing and racket angle. I didnt notice a break-in period after this time but the topsheet became ugly, less shine and tacky more like grippy, something like a rakza z used.
I always need clean the rubber in after 1h trainning, a lot of dust attatch on the rubber and become hard to loop. I thought would be more easier than H3N but not at all, maybe with 1 layer of booster become way better.

Edit: I notice yesterday the rubber doesnt grab the ball anymore, become more speedy and the ball feels like falling during the drills, i need to close the racket and do less effort very different when was new.

Need to update my initial post, but it's hard since I use a different blade, which means a different weight, balance, blade face shape, every wood ply is different, only the outer ALC is "the same".
My first assessment was with a Xiom Ice Cream AZX Pro blade, but I would like to revisit what a blade change can do on the ranking.

I would say the Xiom Ice Cream AZX Pro is like a Viscaria in a W968 form. It has Viscaria properties but the balance and some comfort of W968 so I think it's a very worthy mass-manufactured blade. Much faster and the speed and quality comes up much better than on Viscaria, and it's faster than W968 by a lot but the quality doesn't manifest so nautrally.

I tried many of the rubbers on my Taiwania blade which is a miracle but also I tried some on Stiga Inspira plus and Mizutani ZLC, Lin Gauyuan's Guanjian ALC, FZD SALC. Mostly these were my test subjects.

-1, Pinyi Cuifeng, it has the most potential on normal production blades. It has the speed the hardness the topsheet grip and stick and snap, I think it is probably the most safe rubber. If you use it on a very hard blade it will be difficult to use but the potential is there. Weight is better than german rubbers and durability is excellent.

-2, Quanshibao F1, very easy to use, very much like I said a half way DE-boosted H3BS. But I still think that is quite a good rubber to have. Weight is very good, stick is low but the topsheet is very user friendly. This is a comfort rubber and if you have difficult blade I would use this rubber on it.

-3, Sanwei National Target, by this I mean the new Sanwei national target with blue sponge. Not the black or purple or G40 or player etc. The normal one. Usually this rubber feel like it has a low arc, the speed is OK but not great, the spin is pretty good, it feels like it needs something extra. Maybe that extra is boosting or a faster or a blade with more curve and I feel that too. I didn't wanna boost so I first put it on the Mizutani ZLC and it felt pretty darn good, the speed was acceptable, arc was acceptable still it felt a bit lacking.
I glued it on the Taiwania and god damn, this rubber is amazing. Speed is more than plenty, arc is so good I need to hit flatter to not over arc the table which incidentally improves the speed even more. Amazing rubber with that blade. On other blades for me the best one so far was Mizutani ZLC and in the past Cybershape Carbon. But with Taiwania it's so much better that it's a totally different league. Weight is amazing at 48-49g and durability and stick is better than H3...

-4, Loki Rxton 7, it's just great. I would say it's like a sticky and a bit harder T05. It has a very decent catapult, the topsheet quality is quite good, the sponge is also quite good. I really don't see any problem with this rubber, I think it's a very friendly and easy to use rubber that everyone should try. The 40 degree version is totally usable for BH.
I talk about a harder and stick T05, maybe I should say it's a poor man's Tibhar K3. It works on most blades, it's not picky.

-5, 729 Battle 3 Tiger 4, damn this rubber is weird. First I used it on my Xiom Ice Cream AZX Pro on FH and it was interesting! A bit slow but every ball went on the table despite whatever Xu Xin bullshit I tried and it had amazing spin. My opponents couldn't block it on the table. It is a bit heavy at 53-54g cut,, but it performs amazing.
After the Xiom blade when I came back to my country I went on an amateaur national competition and I glued it on Taiwania blade and it felt just great, spin amazing, speed plenty, but heavy. Actually my BH with a slightly more heavy and harder Glayzer was more of an issue but still I won the competion only with two 3-1 matches, the rest was 3-0. Solid rubber, but heavy, no blue sponge.

-6, H3N OS 37, actually on the Taiwania blade on BH side totally de-boosted it felt quite right. Since I tried it my brain is thinking that something with a bit more speed would be amazing with the H3 tophseet, so the H3-50 is now in my mind. When I flipped it to my FH it still felt quite amazing, so the Taiwania blade has some extra kick for these rubbers.

-7, Battle 3 Purple lightning, as much as I anticipated this rubber it bit me in the ass. Maybe I got a bad sheet or I don't know what happened. It was too soft, the topsheet was not grippy enough, I had many issues. I guess I need to buy the 41.5 special edition to get a good sheet. But even with all it's problems it was fast, spinny and light. Just had some issues.

On a very hard wood outer ply wood I think the Sanwei Target National will shine, and by this I mean some rosewood or similar blades. On more conventional like I try to describe.
For sanwei target national do you recommend the silver package or purple with number 3 on it?
