Anyone know why wcq fans are complaining (again)? google translate says ‘unclean ball’, did something happen during the game
for once, Lind is probably on a victory high atm, but imagine telling Chinese you just beat their no.1 on their home soil on their national holiday, ouchie! Well I hope he can be more mindful of his word next time, the win was well deserved, just ignore WCQ fandom, they'll come up with a hundred excuses

Wow. WCQ looked in form last round styling on Shinozuka. Maybe the pressure along with the disruptive spin and timing really did a number on him in this match.

Best part of the win was Lind lying on the floor shouting WTF! to his coach in disbelief.

Lind is on the short list of players I always watch because of his creative play. But he's incredibly inconsistent and also quite the hothead. So he has a lot of those things in common with Moregard. And now he's added one more thing in common.

The farcical selection system that put fairness above all else has done irreparable harm now. The psychological barrier built up by this gen in the past decade has been nullified by JTTA's own hand and the confidence is being eaten away.

It means, for Japanese women, while they are still struggling trying to take Chinese, now they have a Korea problem. Korean women are quietly but surely catching up and trying to surpass Japan.

Deep into China's smash, the remaining matches are mostly must-watch for TT fans.
On men's side, I'll be paying attention to the following R16 matches:

Kao vs Lind --- after taking down a falling WCQ, lets see if our hero Lind can continue to surprise us by handling a rising Kao
LSD vs Anton -- Both are young and fast rising representing the future of TT, but most eyes will be on LSD who is just amazing to watch.
Felix vs Xiang Peng -- the stars of young generation talents, especially for Felix who is the only remaining penhold player. For Xiang, this is maybe his breakout chance.
Truls vs Harimoto -- most interesting and evenly matched pair, speed vs creativeness.

Tomorrow, we'll see how next 4 pairs of R16 is formed.

Felix and Xiang played a tremendous match in the French league so this will be a good match for Xiang - an opponent he knows and who he has competed well with. The question is whether Xiang has made the same growth Felix has - it isn't that obvious if he has.

Lind's victory made top 5 at 微博热搜/Weibo Hot Search. Learn Chinese next and he will become Viktor Axelsen. Beside the weight of 太子妈/Prince's Mother, he's going to feel the brunt of the CNT. An honor that he can brag for the rest of his life.

Good analogy. In Xu Xin's case, Xu's most effective weapon was his spin play and Gauzy out-spun him in that game.
Wang's main strength is his overaggressive and efficient first three shorts(serve, receive and third ball attack), Lind happens to be strong in that department and he used it more effectively in this game.

in summery, the strategy is called 'beat your opponents in their own games.

With that said, Both Xu Xin and WCQ are far superior to Gauzy and Lind. They won't allow the upset to repeat. It's true in Xu's case as Gauzy have never beaten Xu again since the upset. The same case will be true to WCQ as well.
WCQ simply played badly for the match,

Pretty funny that everyone is hiding their serve against WCQ. Lind vs WCQ was pretty much who can hide the serve better lmao.

Once WCQ doesnt have his serve advantage, his strength in the other parts of the game is way below FZD or Ma Long. Now that LSD is the hot upcoming star, his position in the CNT might be challenged really hard. I think CNT is also evaluating other players like Xue Fei now, Xiang Peng, etc now

Just rewatched the Lind vs WCQ match. Anyone notice Anders dropping an f bomb in the postmatch interview? 😅
Of course, we were all over it in the youtube chat. And that was what @AndySmith was talking about in his post-match post.

WCQ simply played badly for the match,
I don't think it was that simple, how often do you see WCQ loop backspin pushes into the net, even when he plays badly? Give his opponent some credit.
