Men's singles is natural for him, he didn't even thought about losing it
Seriously, this probably means that he decided to train doubles. Probably he will bring a singles medal with his simple everyday training, but MD medal needs focus on doubles training.
Also, doubles is the weakest point of CNT, a strong japanese or korean double might beat them, so it's good to prepare for this aspect of the game.

ML's best MD result at National Games is bronze in 2005. He and YA even failed in qualification tournament in 2013. XX and WLQ won gold in 2009 and did not make to semifinal in 2013. This year pairing across province is allowed. As #1 seed and recent Japan Open champion , ML/XX have better chance to win a gold in MD than MS or team.

This makes me happy for 1 year if he tries and wins....but to see him coming back to training is full of joy for his fans .
