@UpSideDownCarl

People here have seen my game, and they have a pretty good understanding of what I can do and what I really know.

How the hell would I be trying to fool people here into thinking I'm better than I am? I'm not that insane as to think that after all this time, the regular posters here simply don't "get it" and can't see my 2900+ level game that I supposedly have.

I could post my daily happenings with the formula of "Today I played table tennis. I improved a little!" and someone would be claiming "No you didn't, you're lying!"

At Mytt, people watching my videos commented on how bad (illegal) my serve tosses were and I made a note of three things to fix.

1. Pause before the serve with ball in ready position in tossing hand for at least 3 seconds.
2. Toss ball consistently to eye level/head height without raising the tossing hand - reduces significance of backward tosses.
3. If toss is low (around 6 inches to 1 ft), make the toss vertical.
4. In general, avoid backward tosses.

My forehand serves are going be usable but my backhand serves will need a lot of work. I played okay today but forgot my camera stand. I will try to fix these serve issues asap.

I didn't notice them being illegal, but I did notice that you would often rush to serve the ball. Your serves aren't hidden and the only reason someone would call you out, is if they're losing because they can't deal with the spin on the serve, or they're frustrated that they're losing and looking for an excuse.

Looking at his comments I thought at least even if he's not good, he knows how to create top and backspin.

I laughed my ass off when I saw the video of what seems to me a chicken swinging TT paddle. Now, I won't look down on someone who's eager to learn, in fact i've always been feeding multiball for my friends, both better and worse players than me.

But archo doesn't ask questions, he speaks as if he understands and what makes it worse, it only serves to confuse people
who are looking for solutions
Where is the link to that said video?

Merry Christmas TTD Daily chat users! Reading your chats regularly has made my year so much better, even when I am unable to play myself. I would like to especially thank all those who have given me invaluable feedback from the videos I have posted.

I made a silly decision last night. Even though I am physically exhausted as I had acted as a tourist guide for my friend who came to HK for the last 4 days, and prior to that I went on the china tour, I still decided to play with my lefty friend as he is going on a tour tmr and we are not sure if we will have a chance to play next year before I go back to Aus. Today I played terrible, perhaps a lack of eye body coordination + generally unfit due to no exercise for 2 weeks. As we both arrived a bit late, and we only hired the court for 1 hour, we only did a very short warm up prior to the match. I was consistently missing my loops of backspin pushes, mostly not making contact with the ball. It felt like my body could not do what my mind wanted to do, and that was very frustrating for me as I knew I could have done that easily if this was a month ago. But I guess I just have to accept that I will not always be in my top form, especially for next year where it is my final year of uni and I don't want to have to repeat it. (yes, I am starting to stress before it has even started).

The bad thing was that I somehow injured my left ankle when trying to reach for a very wide ball at the right corner of the table. I have never really injured my left ankle before in TT, so I think I was really physically unfit (with bad eye body coordination) for TT atm for it to happen.

Never the less, we did have some good points in the match we played today. I have selected the highlight and made it into a short video. Hope you guys like it. Merry Christmas again, and I look forward to chatting more with you guys in the coming year :)

At first your dishonesty was about your level. That fell apart. It changes post by post. But, how about this, I will point a few things out as they come up. NextLevel has done it plenty of times too. Sometimes it is about techniques you say you are working on. Sometimes it is you asking questions in a way to get people to respond in a reactive way. Sometimes it is you being manipulative for varied effects.

The bottom line is, often it is ultimately about you seeking out attention. And sometimes when someone is attention starved or desperate for attention for whatever reason, bad attention is better than none at all.

Truthfully, if you dropped the nonsense and simply posted with a level of honesty, the attention you would get would be much healthier for you.

Merry Christmas.

Hope everyone is having a nice Christmas!

This is probably my favorite drill in table tennis. The attacker is forced to play all 4 major shots (FH crosscourt, FH down the line, BH crosscourt, BH down the line) and both players have a small amount of footwork, but not too much. I do these types of drills mainly just for fun:

I still have lots of problems on the BH side with elbow positioning and timing.

So prize winners, be patient with me. I have some travelling and some stuff to do. I should get Ritchie and RayLazyFo's stuff out tomorrow, but I am currently squeezed for time and have to travel so I may not get it all out, though if I conclude negotations with you today, I will try. Anyone wanting Karis will have wait a little longer.

I don't have a disciplined order or routine for the prizes/gifts. But you will all get something, even if it is early next year because of international mail.

Still waiting on Boogar and SchemeSC to make first contact.

The post offices all closed early today, leaving me looking like an idiot with rubbers in my hand to main in front of their doors. I am travelling to Kentucky tomorrow or Monday, so I will likely carry the stuff for Richie and RayLazyFo with me to mail there.

By the time I get back, probably on Thursday or Friday, the Karis order I placed would have arrived and I can settle the other prize winners. Thanks again for all your patience.

Merry Christmas, everyone. In terms of Table Tennis, this has been a rewarding year and many people have asked me why they don't see me posting that much on ooakforum (where I hosted my two main blogs) or mytabletennis.net (where I was once the most notorious poster) and wondering whether I still post. I hint to them that I have come here, and I have realized that as much as I pretend to analyze and rationalize, I go to places because of the people. And you all are great people, even the trolls. As much as I try to tell you the things you need to hear, continue to tell me the things I need to hear, even if I sometimes do not like to hear them. That is the meaning of friendship.

Carl really sets the tone for this forum (I am not under-crediting Dan, whose design of the forum just makes it the kind of place where people do not want to leave trash, and I am sure most of you know what I mean) . Sometimes, I wish I could clone him and make him the social side of other forums. On too many forums out there, people who run the forums are afraid to do things that give the forum a personality, or say what they should or should not embrace, to the point that they encourage the entertaining behavior of rampant trolls. More important is to crowd out the trolls with lots of positive posting and Carl has set the tone for that.

I mean, mytt is probably the forum where I know the most people in person because it has lots of American tournament players but I bond best with the people here. The people I have met in person (Carl, DerEchte, Boogar, OSPH, Ilia, Pleaides) have all been great and I am hoping to meet more. OF course, there is some overlap with other forums, so I am focusing on the people I link to here. Hopefully, I can get to Germany and meet some people.

Of course, this year, some people stopped playing and went without telling me or others why. I have one particular person in mind when I say this especially but I don't want to over-discuss it. I wish him the best because while this sport helps maintain health, playing through the health issues and injuries is not easy and people who have never experienced it will never truly understand it.

What I will say is that many things happened for me this year that I never thought would, and as much time I put into TT, I got so little standard training with my injuries that I was really lucky that a couple of things happened that just make the stars align the right way. Meeting you all and posting on this forum is one of them.

While I cannot mention all your names, I would like to specially thank everyone who has posted at least one video on this thread, including the ones I always meant to comment on (yes, yuri.saldon) but never did. It's good to see posts on the thread, but videos give the chats a personal touch that posts don't quite do.

Merry Christmas once more. Happy Holidays. And buy Nexy Karis M :p.
