Good idea - I can usually tell whether my opponent never played against pips before (and I don't block close to the table much, which is yet another potent weapon). By the way, Dornenglanz is awesome for this - FL2 and 3 might be too grippy, I suspect. Never tried 755 and did you mean Air UpUpUp form Cole - never heard of Illumina pips (there is a smooth rubber though).
Yeah - I kinda fixed that (Upup is close enough). Might tell Mr Lehman who gets the Spinlord short pips to get me a sheet of Dormenglanz. The guy who gave me the tutorial is a chop blocker and we used to play a lot until I got over 1800. So because of how he used to block lots of spinny loops close to the table, he always made me wonder about long pips.
I was thinking that a good sponge might help with blocking but 755 is not the kind of pips this guy would recommend (he is more a Grass D Tecs/Talon 0X, long soft pips kinda guy). In any case if I can get good enough to bring back loops close to the table, that is all I need as it will give people the practice they need.
