As promised, here is a video of my best points in the pennant matches on Tues night.

As always, comment and feedback are always welcomed.

I will try to upload the full match videos when the internet is sufficient.

Well played! You totally destroyed them :D Liked the backhands big time!

I noticed you lean a lot in your shots, if you'd used your feet more you would have so much more power behind your shots just like like the first ball or at 1:13.

This may be just because this is a highlight video, but you seem to be at least 2 or 3 levels above your competition!

Thanks Boogar for your encouragement and advice! I agree with what you said, I do need to move my feet more and probably faster too! I'm feeling a bit unfit as I'm having some aches in my big joints after the matches haha.

They were just my best points so I didn't show the ones where I make simple mistakes :p

The second pips beat me, and I barely beat the other two, so I think I can't say I am above their levels.

You played great in every point in the video ... really impressed at how you handled long pips even though you don't play that much ...

I feel you are at a point where you have got touch and spin understanding above your level but the footwork is not at par. I would really strongly suggest you work on your physical , core and legs and also do specific footwork drills with a coach feeding multi-balls etc .

Jeff, you first opponent is the typical LP Korean O50 Achuma with OX LP on BH, but she is "Hope" division city level, you should have given her a 5-6 point handicap.

Haha. I think its because i only show my I est points so it is quite biased.

What is 'Hope' division city level?

I think it means that she (might) hopes to be good enough one day in order to compete in the lowest level in the city / area; she's probably not good enough yet... BTW: While I was watching the clip I also thought to myself "Oh man, that poor "old" lady", that was pretty ruthless...:)

@Michal:
Have you been hiding this vid from me?
[Emoji12]
BTW:
nice play by Alex
BUT EVEN BETTER PLAY BY KEINI
[Emoji15]
But Alex is still young and can learn and improve.
I think that unnecessary complaint about a not so hidden serve has distracted him and brought him into a negative draft where he just couldn´t get himself out again

Not hiding anything :)
This is a great match.
Alex was more angry about bad draw he got.
Whoever else would he get (Pištej included) he would win easily.
He got the worst possible oponent in that tournament.
As it was Slovak championships, he got sad..
Next round Keini was really exhausted and lost to Novota (a player I cant remember when was last time he beat Alex).
In the end Novota ended up 2nd.
Having Alex better draw, he could become champion or at least 2nd.
That is what was mostly in his head.

Koreans have many divisions in club/city level. Hope division is the lowest level, kinda like you are hoping to be good enough sometime to advance to club div 7 level, a newbie level.

BY comparison, Next Level, when he isn't cranky or slow in pain would prolly be in Div 1 city north of Seoul with a 30%+ win ratio. That division covers pretty much 3 levels. You gotta be 2400 to be forced into Div 0 or Div MINUS 1 (two levels better than Div 1). I played Div 5 and worked my up to Div 2 City before I left Korea. I currently MIGHT be able to get by as Div 2, but soon enough, the Tourney Directors and enemy coaches would bring overwhelming pressure to put me in Div 1 city, where I would likely have a 20-30% win ratio.

Hope Division is where they put you if you cannot receive serves or rally worth crap. Div 5 city is for a new player who can do some kinda of serve receive and rally. This is 1-3 levels below average amateur USA or Korean club level. Div 4 is pretty much your 1400-1800 USATT rated player. You might get moved to Div 3 at 1700 USATT level (that is 2-3 levels above USA average Joe in a club), but you would lose many matches.
