I say thanks to them. But here, ppl don't even apologize for net balls... instead they say, you saw that good shot?
well, when someone gives me a lot of net or edges, I will say, "after the game, come with me, we going to buy the lottery ticket together"

I do not mind apologizing when i do something wrong but apologizing for something
that the opponent did wrong sounds really stupid to me:
Sorry you put this one in the net
Sorry that shot was too long
Sorry you missed
Sorry you got the top-edge

I mean, c'mon guys this is after all a "battle-game" 😁

Here in the Netherlands it is common to apologise, I accually never heard someone say thank you. Although once a team did clap and cheered him on for some reason. I'd say just stay quiet or say sorry :)
Looks like it's common in Denmark too. Here's Anders Lin reflexively saying sorry when Noshad misses a serve:
