By the way, kids who lived in the Kopparhuset were considered to be dangerous or otherwise to be avoided by kids who lived in the surrounding posh areas. A question of economic class I think, but friends of mine who lived there later went on to establish a punk rock band that recorded a lot in Sweden (the leader of which actually WAS a somewhat dangerous dude). Since I was an American I was considered to be a strange outsider anyway so was not stigmatized for where I lived. Most of my Swedish friends came from playing sports, especially TT. Ok, enough nostalgia.

Back to Mog, the more important topic.

Great read! It actually still has that kind of stigma even though it’s quite expensive to live there nowadays. Let me know if you’re ever in Stockholm and I’ll take you to the club. Some of the kids that were around when it started in 1976 are still playing actively. One of those guys still plays in division 1 (3rd tier national league). We have players from sub-elite level down to beginners. It’s a very inclusive club so players that have moved up to more fancy pro clubs still train with us quite often.
