Is there any reason not to glue a sheet a couple of millimeters above the handle top, to save on some weight?
I'm interested in replacing my AK47 Red with G1, but it's about 8 grams of difference which would make it too head heavy for my liking.
Also, are there any other tricks you guys use to keep the weight slightly lower?

Center of gravity, aka balance. Adding mass to the handle butt is another way to reduce the swing weight, which is more perceptible than total weight.

I almost always glue the sheet a bit above the handle. The main reason is that I like to EJ and I like to transfer rubbers to anothre blade. And as I transfer it to another blade and the sponge shrinks, well, the rubber is being glued further and further up above the handle.

I also happen to like light blades/set-up's and hurricane is heavy so gluing it above the handle works well for me.
