This is a bit off-topic, but i wonder why none of the TTD staff post on here? I see Joe Ratajczak posting on the tabletennis subreddit, but that's about it.

Because they are not as invested in the forum as appearances might lead you to believe? People have asked for more moderators for a long time but there have been no new moderators added to the staff.

They are making their money from Instagram and YouTube, not the forum

Hey everyone, I’ve seen a few of you mentioning that I haven’t been posting as much lately, totally fair point!

Honestly, the main reason is time. If I’m not travelling to film with players or events, I’m usually buried in editing to get the next video out. It’s been non-stop with filming, editing, and projects behind the scenes for many years now.

That said, the forum is where it all started, and I really appreciate everyone who keeps the discussions going. I'll be making sure to get involved with more of the discussions more often. I honestly absolutely love this forum and still do so many things behind the scenes from an admin/server development point of view. The site now is 100 x better than the old system we had, which if you guys can remember the early days it was so bugged! But I totally get it, its poor on my part I should be commenting and getting involved way more, the site works so well on mobile so I can post from my mobile.

Also, working on Mods too. If anyone is interested in being a mod please can you send me a DM. Thanks so much!

Hi @Dan good to see you post on the forum it’s been awhile. When viewing the website on mobile in portrait mode the search icon is missing and it only shows when turning my phone around into landscape mode. There is room to add a search icon on the top right in portrait mode. You could possibly put the search function next to the user icon on the right.

In the same time, ignoring a user like zeio, other than removing thesis of teiba link, it will also not show any threads he makes. I was told that he tagged me (which I also don't get those notifications) in a thread he made, I can't see his thread and I have no intention on trying to find it

but TTD isn't money strong like META

Someone or some people have had negative experiences with just about every poster who is as active as zeio is on a forum. But by all means, the ignore list is everyone to make their lives more peaceful. I am not saying you don;t have a right to ignore him or anyone else, I am just saying that negative experiences with popular posters posts are pretty common and are IMHO not a reason to open a thread with instructions on how to ignore a specific poster. General ignore instructions would have been fine.

a mod told me, and to encourage others to report the posts that are of nuisance and hopefully someone will see it and do something about it.

the modless issue has been raise for a long time, so hopefully the big man himself can sort this out, and they can be more mods looking after the "reports" atleast.

Just go and look at how many threads as become zeios spamming. He has run wild.
I recall there was one WTT event thread and after the event has finished, it became chinese electric vehicles.

in most forums, zeio would be banned just by those spamming alone.

The Ignore function is like the dumbest feature on TTD because it doesn't stop the newbies from being exposed to the truth but only serves to disrupt those who get offended.

Even the spamming is fine, every forum has their resident spammers. But the tendency to prove a point by linking to their own posts, which link to their own posts etc etc is just a very tiring facade of supposed argumentation. It takes away from people who actually try to support their posts with external information.

But stuff like that is hard to mod, as he's usually not doing something directly harmful. Indirectly it's pretty much gaslighting by spinning such an elaborate web of self-signed evidence that one gets tired and gives up.

What you are doing - posting instructions on how to ignore a specific member - is pretty puzzling. So yes, I am back to argue against it since there are no moderators around to delete the post since common sense should tell it is simply an attack on zeio.

You are too nice to not link to his ad hominem on you and me. I say keep this thread up to show the future members there are these quality members who would stand with that one hell of a 極品.

I've given it some good thought and decided to clear my Ignore list this morning.

That doesn't mean I agree with the conduct of those that were on there.
Every single person that was on there, was on it for a reason, either:
- trolling
- gaslightlike attempts to win (senseless) arguments by piling on links and disinformation
- instigation
- posting otherwise useless stuff just to annoy people

That doesn't mean I think it's a useless feature
I think it's great to be able to cool down from these posters when their behaviour gets under your skin. In essence, most people are here to enjoy themselves, right?

It does mean that I think keeping the blinders on isn't a solution to the problem
Most of these people aren't going to change. Whether it is because they are willingly being obnoxious, stubborn and convinced of their own righteousness, or downright ignorant slash unable to adhere to social rules of engagement. The solution is, as always, with yourself. Acceptance is key here.
Like graffiti in a city, bad apples in politics, those unwanted elements will always be there. Accepting it for what it is will give you the peace needed to move on to parts of this forum that you do want to put focus on.
There's no need to make these posters any bigger than they are - they're just bringing decoration to the forums that wasn't asked for.

The best way to deal with it is to just leave them be.
Just stop engaging, don't try to win an argument with someone who isn't out to argue.
If you do feel their posts are crossing a line - report. Yes, there's a staff shortage, we all know that. But engaging en publique will make more of a mess than twenty reports that aren't reacted to. Just look at this thread alone.

No, I don't agree.
I have a few ppl on ignore because nothing they write is of interest to me but the person in question posts lots of insight besides the less interesting, propaganda type stuff you are probably referring to.
I find it easy to ignore that stuff by just not reading or choosing not to reply.
But since the other half of the Zeio sparring issue has left us there is a LOT less of that type of drivel anyway. And the author of this post was just as bad in as many ways. Some ppl believe they know everything, there's more than one of that type of person in here
