I've heard and read that a lot of players don't really use any kind of rubber (specialised) cleans since they are full of solvents and other ingredients that might be harmful for the rubber. But then I found out about this Spin Refresh, of which I have read about containing no solvents on any other materials that could be unuseful for the rubber.

Has anyone of you ever used this product? If so, could you please share you thoughts and opinions?

I only use water but my friend uses not butterfly but another of those refreshers. We used the same rubber and his was almost pristine after a year while mine was ready for the bin. I was baffled…
He a defensive so he pushes only attacks sporadically maybe that has something to do with it. But I think it makes at least a little difference.

Cheers

Hm, so then I guess you are saying it might be paying-off if refreshers are used...

I think the emphasis has to be laid on "might".

Like Lzr says, his friend , as a defender , is using the same rubber in a very different way.
In order to actually prove that the regular use of a refresher is not just cleaning the rubber
one would have to launch an controlled experiment that would at least involve the same player,
the identical blade and rubber and maybe using the units equally as in every time one plays one would play with "the other unit" 😁

I am using spin refresh and we also have a bottle of Cure Water in the house, once ordered to fill the gap between postage and free shipping.

Both seem like cleaners with cooler names to me, and with the use of water the same job should be done equally.

I feel that the whole cleaner product range is aimed at lower level players, because I have never seen any of my higher ranked amateur, semi-pro or pro player friends (not the kind that changes rubbers on a daily basis) use them - they´ll breathe and wipe, like you see it in videos - while in the lower leagues some players would like to use them between sets.

But I might be wrong.

It’s aimed at people who take care of their equipment. The breathing breath then wipe is enough for in game settings, but not clean enough nor hygienic for storing. Also, most amateur players would be using the same rubber for a long time, a lot longer than it should be used, sometimes up to a few years without changing. The players you mentioned, even if they don’t change it daily, they still change it quite frequently, and the important thing is they know when they need to change their rubbers, and probably either have free or cheaper rubbers than normal people does. It’s also a habit thing, if a pro player cleans their rubbers as a kid growing up, and kept cleaning it throughout the training years, I don’t see why they will stop doing that. But I know for the CNT, they train at least 8-9 hours everyday, cleaning won’t help preserve the rubbers too much, they’ll have to change it every few days.

I own a shop, so I do use TT rubber cleaners myself (haven't used Spin refresh though).

But often enough when I am tired, I would forget to clean. And I would just wipe it with my sweat the next time i'm using it.

Most players around me just use breath or sweat.
But for them, they change rubbers too regularly that rubber cleaner won't make much difference.

I do stand that rubber cleaner is better than water (i've seen water stain occurred in my customers bat, and they thought the rubber was destryoed - after it dried completed, the stain from inside the rubber top sheet also went away)

I have however once you a liquid cleaner that felt very soapy. I didn't like the feel of my H3 topsheet after it, so I stopped using. Many other brands I came across, it really feels like a sample cleaner in the same bottle but just a different sticker on (and different color of the bottle)

I've used form cleaners before and thought that was okay too.
