[h=1]Olympic Solidarity - Ping Pong Peace Burundi[/h]
On the 20th December 2011 the progression for table tennis in Burundi enhanced from the help of Former World Champion Peter Karlsson, along with the ITTF and Peace and Sport team. More exciting activities were delivered on the outskirts of Burundi called Ginhanga. The day before the team travelled 2 hours across the mountainous country to the previous capital City Gitega. Table Tennis was provided here as you can see by the video below.
This is amazing work by the ITTF Team working alongside Peace and Sport. I'm sure this was a nice Christmas treat for everyone who took part in Burundi
As quoted on the ITTF Karlsson had several key messages to put across: "Being in Africa is a fantastic experience for me, I want to pass on the values I have gained through sport: respect, discipline and planning. Sport provides any Valuable lessons that can help shape a better future for everyone and this is what I want to pass on to all of the players and coaches I meet in Burundi"
