Must have been during speed glue era. The larger point is pretty valid.

Absolutely, but still.. Allround Classic with Mendo rubbers and speed glue.

I believe it was around year 2000

WRB should increase stiffness, in theory. How applicable that theory is and how right it is in reality, well, I'm sure we all remember a certain physicist's posts here.

I'm not actually sure myself if putting a hole in the handle would change the inherent properties of the blade face. There IS a good chance it doesn't and STIGA is just bullshitting.

It's not a car rim, nor is it a wishbone arm, where you really do want to have holes in the face of the object and not just a straight block: and that IS often done just simply because you can achieve the same stiffness but with lower weight.

So I'm just going to assume that the stiffness of the blade face doesn't actually change that much if at all in practice, if you've seen it to be so.

If there isn't really that much of a difference, then my life is easier, when I need to weed through the marketing BS when I buy my next blade. :p

For the Evolution, to my understanding it's just a few good pieces of wood slapped together. I won't think about it too much.
