Training in School

Sir
We find that lot of parents are working in this world and do not have much time we should make TT compulsory as Indoor sports in school just like martial arts we can teach Ist(age5+) standard to college and above we can get more members to play. And have international exchange programs to see best players playing at an early age on international school program between two countries.

My wishes to you for doing a great job
thanking you
Shreeshaila

Other than plugging a USB cable programmed with TT craze into everyones head and uploading instruction banks, the only way to increase participation is for TT to become a bonafide school sport. Until that happens, serious TT is a niche sport without a lot a huge growth.

Table tennis is a very practical sport for schools. Everybody can participate to a certain level. I think putting table tennis is schools is a great idea. This would make the sport more accessible to a wide range of people. This kind of exposure especially to young people is surely a good idea.

That is very true. It is very practical. I know here in Kuala Lumpur, there is this primary chinese private school that has 51 TT tables laid out in it's hall for the kids..they make it compulsory that all the kids to get involved in TT. It really is something else. It's a huge hall that has 18 badminton courts. At night and weekends, they will remove 2/3 of the tables and people like me will use it for badminton, while the remaining tables are used by the school TT team to train!

This is absolutely a great idea for the sport. It all starts with you guys though. If you're into TT you should be an ambassador for the sport. Let people get excited about it because you're excited about it. If you can just get 1 more person to love the sport like we do then we're doing our jobs, but the most effective way to get the sport to grow is to get your local players or friends who play and go into the schools and ask if you can teach or give off an exhibition for the kids to see. When you get kids to see what the sport is like they're hooked right away. I've seen it with my own eyes they go: "Whoa how did you do that?" And you say well I've been playing this sport for a long time and if you want I can teach you to play. It gets them interested and from there schools can get teams and more competition and then the hope is better resources for better facilities to hopefully one day soon take on the Chinese :p
