美国当地时间7月13日10:00，纪念“乒乓外交”54周年暨中美乒乓球友好交流活动在美国拉斯维加斯市举行。本次活动由中国乒乓球协会及美国乒乓球协会联合主办，并受中国驻旧金山总领事馆大力支持，由内华达州美中文化协会协办。

驻旧金山总领馆总领事张建敏，中国乒协主席王励勤、秘书长何潇，美国乒协首席执行官沈伟妮出席活动并致辞。美国内华达州前州长史蒂夫·西苏莱克及拉斯维加斯市议员维多利亚·西曼的代表列席，共同见证了这一具有历史意义的时刻。

活动中，中美乒乓球队运动员深入当地社区文化中心，以女双、男双及混双配对形式展开5分制友谊赛。张建敏、王励勤、沈伟妮和美国队教练哈金斯基也组队切磋球技。

张建敏表示“乒乓外交”不仅做出了历史贡献，它所体现的精神在今天依然激励人们“加强人文交流，增进人民友好，共创美好明天”。

沈伟妮认为“体育拥有一种强大的力量，即使是最小的球也能承载友谊和理解的重量”。

王励勤期待“以银球为纽带，传承友谊，续写中美民间交往的新故事”。
(At 10:00 local time on July 13, commemorating the 54th anniversary of "Ping Pong Diplomacy", the friendly exchange of table tennis between China and the United States was held in Las Vegas, USA. The event was co-sponsored by the CTTA and the USATT, strongly supported by the Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco, and co-organized by the Nevada US-China Cultural Association.

Zhang Jianmin, Consul General of the Consulate General in San Francisco, Wang Liqin, Chairman of the CTTA, He Xiao, Secretary General, and Shen Weini, CEO of the USATT attended the event and delivered speeches. Representatives of former Nevada Governor Steve Sisulek and Las Vegas City Councilwoman Victoria Seaman attended the meeting to witness this historic moment.

During the event, the Chinese and American table tennis players went deep into the local community cultural center to play a 5-point friendly match in the form of women's doubles, men's doubles and mixed doubles. Zhang Jianmin, Wang Liqin, Shen Weini and USA team coach Hakinski also formed a team to exchange skills.

It's bad. Because we have been muzzled by the media and even by some "friendly media." There is a YouTube news channel, which was created to contradict all the media but made a completely false report. We asked the channel to respond to its accusations, but they never responded.

There is also a columnist who attacked me on the France Inter, the French state public radio station. When I asked them to let me respond to the accusations, they refused.

On Twitter, they attacked me for being red-brown - the mixture of ultra-left and ultra-right, the Nazi. One can say that I am a Nazi and I do not have a right to reply.

There is a satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo which published an article about my Uygur book, they called me goofy. The columinist hasn't read the book. A lot of these critiques haven't read the book.

I had an interview with another popular show in France called Quotidienne for a few minutes. The next day, they asked my editor for my book. They hadn't read it too!

This is how I am treated by the media. I want to have a civil dialogue with them over the issues in China. I have never claimed that China is a paradise with only good things. But if we are going to disagree it should be done properly, not the way its done in the media.

China has risen to being the world n1 without conquering any foreign country or fought any war (small skirmishes with India and Vietnam were many years or decades ago). Think about that.

Many propaganda with Uighurs yes. A bit too obvious. I’ve read on the subject and I’m not communist or fan of Mao or XJP.
It’s ridiculous . Look how modern and wealthy Urumqi , only a capital province city is and compare it to a French town like Lyon and its suburbs. Just go to YT or Insta or book a plane ticket to go there.

I’m totally amazed by the videos of China. It’s very modern, tbh Europe looks like a slum compared to it. Prolonging current trends In 30 years they will be Blade Runner and we’ll be Hunger Games.

Unfortunately, their sustained (and highly effective) economic warfare against the US and EU -- during which they've prioritized undermining manufacturing and other industries in those countries at the cost of trillions in revenue to their economy -- has left China with enormous public debt, real estate distress, deflation, and weakening consumer demand despite ongoing stimulus efforts. It looks more like a slow burning financial unravelling than a 2008 style crisis, but in any case it doesn't look good. I hope they can hold it together, because they are doing great things in China, and because if their economy implodes the US and the EU economies will follow (and vice versa).

they are not « supporting » Russia. If they did there would be 10 million Chinese soldiers on the front line ! And Russia would be fighting with modern Chinese weapons.

By the way Historically China has never been the real friend of Russia, even under USSR it was complicated and China could well one day target some Asian parts of Russia

OTOH the whole western bloc is supporting Ukraine.

As to who is the aggressor it’s a bit more complicated than that and more than half the planet doesn’t buy the simplified story of a bad guy against the good guys .

the land dispute China has with its 17 neighbors does get quite aggressive at times.

Not sure if Russia or North Korea does similar things to civilian ships on its own waters, where China claims its Chinese waters and rams naval vessels into civilian vessels as a way of bullying. I think Philippines is the biggest victim of the 17 countries based on naval bullying.
Taiwan would be airspace and hackers (Taiwan got 2.4 million hacks from China in 2024, which equates to 6500 hacks per day).
