Here's the headlines of this year ;D
1. Ma Long, currently world ranked number 1, will not play singles at the Olympics in London. He will play team matches though. Zhang Jike and Wang Hao will be the only Chinese playing singles.
2. Ma Long and Zhang Jike have been dominating the last 6 months, both reaching the finals in nearly every tournament they've played. Ma Long won most of them. After Ma Long heard that he won't be playing singles at the Olympics, about a month ago, he started losing to other players (Koki Niwa at the Olympics qualifications and Lee Sang Su at the Korean Open). Xu Xin just started to win more and more, including the China Open last week.
3. Timo Boll hasn't played any World Tours this year due to injuries. He dropped down to world rank no. 6. His first World Tour will be the Japan Open in 2 weeks.

The best matches (so far) of 2012:
Ma Long-Zhang Jike (Asian Championships)
Ma Long-Xu Xin (Hungarian Open)
Ma Long-Joo Se Hyuk (Hungarian Open)
Ma Long-Zhang Jike (Slovenian Open)
Mizutani-Chuang (Kuwait Open)
Timo Boll-Zhang Jike (WTTTC)
Xu Xin-Zhang Jike (Korean Open)

Try to watch Xu Xin play as his recent form is very good; he just won the China Open and was runner-up in Korean Open.
